Reputable breeders rarely, if ever, make a profit on their litters. They're lucky if they break even. If they happen to make a profit on 1 litter, that money ends up going towards testing Showing, Vet bills.

It is extremely expensive, to Show, and breed healthy, to the standard, Yorkies.

Reputable breeders, with the emphasis on reputable, breed to improve the breed, and for the love of the breed, not for money.

Pet shop puppies come from puppymills and they, and BYB's are about making money.

With all of that said, I hope your puppy is healthy. And you will love him no matter the price you paid. My girls are priceless to me.

Nex time around, buy from a reputable Show breeder. Then, you will be certain your baby is purebred and up to the standard of the breed, with a good health guarantee.
