| I sit with my girl and rub her belly. Do you have a place set up for her?

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Put her in her whelping box and talk to her, I don't rub so I don't interfere with labor pains, then again we all do details a bit different, you know your girl best so do what YOU think will help right now. I sit there and talk to her about how gorgeous her babies are going to be and watch her closely, also i offer her ice cream and some chicken broth in between contractions. have all your instruments sitting in alcohol and ready in reach. Make sure she is not pushing hard for more than one hour while she is in hard labor. Best of luck and wishing her a fast and safe whelping. hugs, Carmen in nj |

| I just wanted to wish you and Chanel the best! My Livi just had puppies two and a half weeks ago so I know how nervous you must be right now. I just tried to talk quietly and calmly to her and tell her she was doing a great job and I also softly petted her head. |

| Keeping you and Chanel in my thoughts and prayers. Can't wait to see the new little ones. My moms whelp on my bed -- I put washable potty pads down and cover them with disposable ones for quick cleanups. I make and freeze a batch of whelping pudding several days prior to the due date and offer small cubes along with water between contractions and between pups. I want to add that I never leave the mom's side during the whelping process. I once sat in bed for 23 hours straight-- only taking two quick potty breaks (with hubby watching the "birthing room"). | As other mention, just stay with her all the time and talk to her comely. I also like to gave vanilla ice cream and chicken broth between contraction. Best of luck to you and Chanel. |

Senior Yorkie Talker | Two puppies born! Thanks for all your advice i really appreciate it...the whelping process went great i sat with chanel, rubbed her belly and helped the pups out it was very nerve wrecking at first because one puppy just wouldnt come out but after about an hour two little pups (presumable boys) were born! Both are healthy and chanel is with them now feeding them..what a great experience. Thanks again! |
