I too have wondered fabout the logic of giving the same dose to a 1 pound puppy and a full grown great dane. Wouldn't the fact that smaller dog have more reactions indicte that they should recieve a smaller dose? |
They refer to the 5 in way as being a multiple shot . Their point is: some people do not realize that a 5 way shot, 5 way , 7 way... even 8 way shot, may be given on a single syringe shot , but actually are a combination of 5, 6 , 7 or even 8 vaccines, given in a single shot for convenience.
I have access to different countries and cultures and about 10 years ago a "V-10" imported vaccine was the "trend" in south america, the claim was , to save you money and protect your pet against 10 different virus????? WOW... many good intended people fell for that ! It was a nightmare of allergic reactions. And it was not necessarily money saving either.
I know that in Brazil at least , the "V10 " vaccines have lost their popularity among vets and most breeders. Sometimes education can spare heartaches, sometimes experience will lead one to spare heartaches and losses in the future.
