| I feed Wellness Small bites to all my yorkies. When my mommas are pg, I start feeding Wellness puppy food about 3 weeks prior to due date. You don't have to feed Wellness, just make sure you feed a quality food.

| Most breeders do not recommend feeding a puppy food to a bitch while she's pregnant. It has been found to contribute to the development of eclampsia in postpartum. It sounds like you have alot of studying to do before your gal is due. I would suggest starting with Canine Reproduction and Whelping by Myra Savant Harris. It will explain why adding calcium to your girl's diet too soon can be dangerous for her later on.

| My vet recommends to just feed as normal for the first six weeks, then up the calories after six weeks. A fat mama can have more problems during delivery. After six weeks, I start feeding her more and let her eat as much as she wants (as long as she isn't getting overly fat). Audrey |
