hi everyone, happy new year !
i am looking to buy a biewer from Biewer-Yorkshire Haven in arkansas?
just looking for info about this breeder.

Wow - I've never heard of these people but I'd like to suggest that you look else where for your new puppy.

It always bothers me when people take "for sale" pictures of their dogs and don't even bother to have them groomed. None of the puppies have their ears standing up and none have had them trimmed so that they can. :confused:

Please remember that you get what you pay for.

I agree, I couldn't believe how badly groomed the yorkies looked. After more checking the breeder appears to advertise alot, kijiji, newspaper, etc. Also, Arkansas, just like Missouri and Oklahoma have many breeders that although maybe are not puppymills, they are generally the worst of byb's.

I wouldn't buy from them just based on thier pics. All the dogs look BAD. Dirty and unkept. The fact that they are that dirty and all thier photos are taken outside tells me that they do not live in the house but rather are outside living in kennels of some sort. Poor babies, they look like they could be beautiful and it is so sad to think they are living outside and not part of a family. :thumbdown

i think you guys are looking at the wrong breeder
 

i did not think they looked so bad, i wanted to buy the biewer puppy she has for 600.00. he is so cute, but i was interested in knowing if she is a puppy mill.

Yes. At that price, there's also likely something wrong with him. Sorry to sound jaded, but that's my gut instinct.

she said she cannot breed him or will not sell him to breed because he has blue in his eyes. thats why she is selling him for a pet only.

Don't you think it's strange she'd take the time to make him look half presentable and sell him WAAY lower than standard Biewer pet price?

He is adorable. It is her adults that look bad to me. They just don't look well cared for at all in my opinion.

Did you look at the yorkies? Because they DID look bad and as myteddybear posted most likely these are yorkies kept outside!

Biewers generally are not cheap dogs, and for her to sell this one that cheaply even for the reason she gave you, indicates to me something is not quite right.

she seemed so caring too about her yorkies, but like everyone said they were outside, she said it is all fenced in, but who knows.

I wouldn't buy from her until your or someone else sussed the situation out. Please do not trust on words alone. I would view the price as a huge red flag! Unless she can provide you with vet documentation to say he's okay, I'd back off.

even vet documentation is not 100% guarantee, especially if she is related or has a friend as a vet. confused i am really confused and trying to find out info on her

PM some of the members here that have Biewers for sale. Could be they have information they would be willing to share.

You've been on yorkie talk for foyur years. Why are you denying the smell of smoke just because this puppy is cheaper? You've had years of seeing the horrors of byb and puppy mills. You don't want advice on this breeder, you want validation of your own guilt that you're supporting someone terrible. I'm leaving this thread now as I find this appalling. :mad:

Do not buy from her. Don't get a dog because it is a good deal. That is a terrible idea. It probably has something wrong with it. I hope you are prepared for the thousands of dollars worth of veterinary care that puppy will have to receive just to become healthy. Not to mention the long term effects, possibility of it dying earlier due to poor breeding, and major expenses in the long term. In those conditions it is most likely going to have a few of the following: fleas, worms, mites, coccidia, kennel cough, giardia, ear infection, or others. Might even have deadly diseases that cost thousands to fix. Buy from a person on the YTCA breeder's list. You can get a rehome for probably less than $1000 if it is a few years old. Plus it will probably be trained and WAY more socialized. I hope you don't get that puppy even though everyone is warning you about it. If you read that, and still want to get your puppy from a puppy mill, please understand you are going to have to shell out a minimum of what you paid for it JUST for vet care right now (and in the future: neutering, vaccines, health issues, etc). Probably have to put aside more money for the behavioral problems it's going to have, since you might need to hire a trainer.

WOW, I never said i was buying the dog, i am just asking to see if anyone has ever bought or heard anything. i would never buy from a byb or puppy mill or a pet shop.

just because someone is selling a dog cheaper does not mean anything bad, maybe he does not have the best features, like my yorkie sammy, he has bad knee caps, his coat is not straight and silky, but i dont care about that. i bought him from a breeder.
do not jump to conclusions and blast me, thats why i am on here to find out info on this breeder. i dont jump that fast, i do research.

If you are honestly just researching, go for the bad side as well as the good side.
Also, why on earth would you want to purposely buy another dog with knee problems? Surely you don't want to see your dog suffer? :confused: Not meant accusingly, that's a genuine question. To me it appears you are almost saying I don't mind if the puppy has health problems. :confused:

She said she was selling him so cheap because of his eye colour. Why are you going into 'maybe' this for all the 'nice' reasons the puppy might be cheaper, but ignoring all the bad reasons that the puppy is most likely cheaper.

i dont want a dog with health problems, i want a healthy dog. all i wanted was some help on here to see if someone knows of this breeder, i really dont need to be nailed to the cross for asking questions. i think you are a bit rude, and i really dont need this.

Maybe I am rude. I don't particularly care. In my eyes you are scouring the cheapest puppy. I don't know how you're spending almost a grand on a $600 puppy. I know it justifies your guilt at what you are doing to feel I am a zealot and nasty, so ignore what I have said, as I expect you will.

Don't expect a lot of support from YT. You've been here for four years. You are not a novice. The people on here are wonderful and don't reward those who purposely ignore red flags to get the puppy they want.

600.00 plus 225.00 to ship is close to 1000.00
i have no guilt, i am just asking, as you said the people on here are very nice and know alot , hats why i always ask. i do not have guilt, because i did not run out and buy the dog. i am not scouring for the cheapest dog.

Well just for info. I suggest you ask for vet documentation, I suggest you ask specifically why he can't be bred. I'd ask if his eye colour will effect him as a pet.

If those things do not check out. Please do not buy this puppy.

Not really sure what will be accomplished by being so harsh. As the saying goes, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. As I see it when someone comes on asking questions about something you don't agree with it would be far more beneficial to offer your wisdom in a friendly manner as offering it in a harsh manner will only serve to make the person lose thier respect for your opinion. In my opinion once you lose the respect of the person posting the question you have just helped in supporting the mill or whatever because the person will likely do what you were trying to get them not to do since they no longer have any respect for your thoughts.

I know you're right, and usually I try to use that method. But honestly? Seeing one more person who appeared to me to be trying to get validation for buying from a puppy mill tipped me over the edge. Especially because this was not a newbie.

well, you know what , i will email her and ask her those questions. she told me she does not want to breed him or have him breed with the new owner because she says that she wants to improve the breed not make it worse because of his eye color.
i do not know if she is right or wrong, but i will ask her.
in all honesty, i wish within a few days that someone on here would have had done business or know someone who she sold a dog to. this way i would know for sure. you are right i am not a newbie, and as you can see from my posts, i always ask questions before i make decisions, there is no reason to jump down my throat.
if i cannot be a member on this website and ask questions, then i have to ask myself why do i bother going on here, to be told i have guilt and i am doing wrong. no thanks

If you're asking for an apology, you will get one if and when you buy this puppy and I am proven wrong about it being a puppy mill, or you decline this offer and get a different dog.
I don't really understand why you expect an apology when nothing has changed? :confused: I know you haven't outright asked for an apology but that seems to be the page you are on. If I have caused you that much distraught, just whack me on ignore.
