| Puppies dying in the womb What could cause puppies to die before birth? I think Ollies puppies might have died. She is due January 21. She was getting nice and round, butnow is losing weight and her tummy does not feel as firm. She acts fine, she's eating, but does have loose stools. I have not treated with any chemicals. Just curious as to what might have happened. |

| 2yrs ago i had this to happen,my girl had a ultra sound showing 2 pups like your 2 or 3 weeks before time for her to whelp i noticed her getting smaller, i take her back another ultra sound no puppies, she had assorbed them back into her body. I was told that this just happen sometimes not only in dogs but other animals as well

| I'm sorry ... I hope you're wrong about Ollie's pups :-( Sometimes it just happens; sometimes there's an underlying infection. Good luck - sending prayers and positive thoughts your and Ollie's way.

| It could be a virus and it could be a hormonal thing too. I would have the vet run some tests as the same thing could happen next time but it can be prevented if you're aware.... |
