Hi im new here and I have 2 yorkies who have had 2 litters before shes been in heat for about 12 days now and been very receptive to my male ...maybe to receptive .?? hes very possessive of her and turned out very aggressive towards anyone that comes near her..Ive personally seen them tied about 10-12 times i tried seperating her cause shes seems kindof tired im worried that its too much for her but evertime i seperate them he freaks out and wont quit barking and going crazy??? Can she get tied to many times? is this really un healthy or normal what should i do hes actually started trying to attack my doberman when ever he just walks by...hes normally very sweet and calm...pls help!!! |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Yes that is to much. Yes it is unhealthy. That is the way males are with a female in heat. You need to put him up. That is one of the bad parts of breeding hearing the male bark, cry and freak out for 3 weeks...not fun. Most breeder let them tie not more than 3 times on different days and holds them so they will not hurt each other.

Yorkies should never be allowed to free breed without human supervision and hands on......allowing them to breed 10-12 times is irresponsible, and could cause physical problems to both your male and female. Your boy attacking your male doberman is very natural......it's what males do when there is a female in heat......If you don't seperate and keep them all seperate you are putting your dogs in major peril. My suggestion is to obtain more research on canine behavior, breeding, the yorkie breed.

As for the rest of your post, others have addressed it and I agree with the other posters. I try very hard to be polite on this forum, it's not always easy for me, all I can say is WOW! I think 10-12 unsupervised ties should be sufficient! | |
