| well.. Didnt get too much sleep last night.. I think Pookie was over stressed giving birth and having to take care of the babies. She kept on leaving her house and the pups.. Then they started crying and she ran back. Left them again and back again.. At 3AM she started crying herself.. She wanted to go sleep in our bed or at least be with us. So we changed the house to a smaller bed a placed her and her babies between us. She FINALLY started to relax and rest. Pups cried a few times but she fixed that on her own... It seems like she is so used to being in bed with us at night that its the only space she can really relax at night. She went potty at 6AM outside and I kept the pups in bed covered. They slept while she was out. She had a very good appetite at 7.30AM.. She was sleeping when I left for work 5 hours ago.. The helper is with her and the babies now.. my my so much stress for her and us.. Last edited by januza; 01-10-2010 at 08:42 PM. |

| You can give them nutri-drops which is a liquid for puppies. Don't give them the nutri-cal because it's too thick. I would not have them in bed with me. You might roll over on them. Is there any way that you can set them up in your room without being on your bed?

They are beautiful. Also buy a kitchen scale and make sure you weight them. This way you will know if they are gaining weight & thirving. Puppies this small cannot retain their heat so they need the extra warmth from a covered up heating pad. I also use the heating lamp. My puppies crawl under the lamp when they are cold. Very smart little buggers. Wishing you the best of luck.

Yorkshire Terriers Information: Second Litter Of Pebbles I have things that my puppies are doing now. Are you having the dew claws and tail removed? You can once they are 3 weeks old and very easy procedure to be done. Your vet can do that for you. Nice to hear they are doing well. Keep them warm. My babies get cold now and they are 4 weeks old. I cannot leave them out of their home for too long.

| I am glad momma and babies are doing well. What dry food are you feeding her? My mommas usually gain weight while nursing but they are all different. Are you feeding her a big meal at bedtime? All you can do is encourage her to eat as much as you can. Nursing pups takes a lot out of them. |
