Oh no.. Pookie is pregnant

Hi Guys

Just an update from Pookie... She still havent given birth.. We are taking her to the vet tomorrow for an additional check up..

I have attached some pix of her really big tummy.. We think this week it will happen.

oh my goodness she is so small.... I would be scared to death. I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers for a safe delivery for her and those pups. please keep us updated on her... ((hugs))

My Lexie was 3.5lbs and died under anesthesia. Make sure they do not use Halothane on her as that along with the pain killers killed my Lexie.

Please see the thread on anesthesia in the Health section. I'd also advise to get an x-ray done in your last 2 week of pregnancy.

Just got back from the vet. Pookie is looking very healthy and the puppies are very healthy as well.
They still cant decide if they need to do c-section. They claim that they will only know on the day itself.
The pups may still change position etc going into labor.

Told us to keep feeding her well and take her for good long walks to keep her strong.

So sorry to hear about your loss!!!

X-ray and ultra sound was done today. Heart beats are very strong and pups like mom are very healthy. I hope we can avoid surgery!

Nice to hear. Also just wanted to add that Lexie's heart stopped when they administered the pain killer. I spoke with another vet who disagrees with quite a few things that were done. So we shall see where this leads me. Lexie should have been fully awake before any pain meds were administered. I was told she was having shallow breaths and trouble waking so why would he give her more medication. Wouldn't you think that it would make her time harder to awake?

My Blessings are with you and so are Lexie's. I named a pup that I have now after her & her little grave is in my backyard so she helps me get through this.

For the past 4 hours she has been very very quiet. Trying to sleep but not really falling asleep. She has a sad look on her face as well. Max is constantly by her side. More than usual. Am I imagining things or could this be the beginning? Both kids are in our bed sleeping now. Have anyone experience with this???

I have with my other yorkie. If your super close to her you will know when something is up. My baby did the same. I knew form 4pm in the afternoon before she even began to nest that I had to bring her upstairs cause time was near. Sure enough she started to nest right away and it's all history from there. She had her first that evening at 9ish so you will know.

My babies stare into space as though in deep thought and look at me like, "What's going on momma?"

False alarm. So far nothing happened last night. We will have people with her all day today looking after her while we are at work.

Well so far she sleeps alot. Pretty much all she does. Still eats but still has her sad look on her pretty little face.

here she is.. She is really growing bigger everyday.. Was active last night but vomited this morning.. Since then she has been eating well and mainly sleeping..

Been trying to walk her with Max but when she is done peeing and pooping she wants to go inside. I guess she is just too heavy to walk around now.

I know she is miserable. I will be praying she has a safe whelping.

What can I do to make her feel better ? Vet doesn't want to force an operation and I'd prefer natural birth if possible.

Any suggestion to make my baby feel better is welcome!!!!

If she isn't over her due date then I'd leave her let her be. Don't take her on long walks.

Why is she vomiting? My mommy doggie never did that. That could be a sign that things are on its way. Is she nesting like my doggie on my website?
