So where do you recommend buying a yorkie from if you live in Alberta? Just as a pet, not for breeding. Thanks:animal-pa |

This is quite an old thread. Recently I tripped over the fact that this breeder is indeed importing both Maltese and Yorkies from Korea which means she is a broker. I don't know if these are able to be registered with the CanadianKC I don't know if there is an agreement. Therefore, any Canadian Kennel Club member that sells a dog or puppy, that dog or puppy must be registered with the Canadian Kennel club and ownership transferred to the buyer. Otherwise it is against the Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct of the Club. Also no reputable breeder I know of would ever sell dogs or puppies importing them from anyone else, we only will sell or place our own dogs or puppies except for breeders involved in rescues that is a whole different matter. Also no reputable breeder would ever ship puppies for someone else to sell. Prices IMHO for these puppies are rather extreme. FCS BABY DOLL YORKIES FOR SALE,HOME OF CHAMPION YORKIES,TINY BABY DOLLS |
Their eyes look like they are bulging on both breeds... |
I'm sorry, but those puppies look very creepy & unnatural to me.:(:thumbdown Where they show the maltese puppies, maybe it was in this thread (as I only read every few pages), but the third pup they show that says "@ maturity" underneath it has been brought up as an entirely fake pic/dog before. I want to say it was on an actual Korean site, but can't remember. Either way it is sick & misleading, not to mention unfair for the poor babies. Also, who in their right mind would fly a puppy/ies over seas when they probably weigh less than a pound!? And how can they possibly be healthy & set up to live a long, healthy life? |

This has way more to do with making lots of money than having a good reputation. |
Thanks for the update ! It has been over a yr since i have heard from her, no papers, no vet records...It is sad to see that it is just all about the money for her. Buddy is doing fine, getting over being a crate dog. Actually acting like a dog, although still very nervous of stange situtations. Just looked at her site again, 5-6000. for a pup is nuts, but i geuss there must be people buying them....she drives a hummer !:thumbdown |

If you have any documentation, cancelled cheque from paying for him, his sire, dam info you could contact the CKC and see if they can help to get his registration certificate. It won't cost you anything to do that and they will try to help you. I think the best route would be to send them a letter telling them you bought this dog and send photocopies of anything you might have. This is their address Mail: The Canadian Kennel Club 200 Ronson Drive, Suite 400 Etobicoke, Ontario M9W 5Z9 Hours Of Operation Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. EST You can try phoning if you want but often you are on hold for sometime General Enquiries: Tel: 416-675-5511 You really should contact them, it might help to stop her from making any claims about being a CKC breeder and would perhaps help someone else from getting ripped off. |
Thank-you for the info, all i have is the emails from her. She actually questions the fact that i wanted records, says i told you that he is due for shots etc....i really don't beleive that he had ever been to a vet. And she says in an email that "he's always been a skinny dog, that just his nature" NOT he is a healthy weight now, and it did not take long to put the weight on. I fed him lean ground and rice homemade mix that my vet recommended and he rapidly gained. He is a healthy active dog now, and foot doesn't seem to bother him much. And i will forward all i have to CKC and they can at least have it in their files. Thanks again |

I am glad your little puppy is doing ok and you are right likely not raised very well and that is why he was so skinny but gained weight once you got him. |
Oh I should almost mention, send a letter with the copies of the emails and tell them this is all you have, there were no contracts, no receipts of purchase, no Vet records. |
yes please file a complaint with the CKC. I did this when I got the run around from the lady I purchased Remy from. Months after purchase she gave me excuses for not sending the papers so I finally e-mailed the CKC and filed a complaint. The breeder then said that the papers had been in her van when it was broken into and the papers were stolen. So again I contacted the CKC to enquire if she had notified them of the stolen papers. miracously the papers showed up in my mail box the following week. The CkC takes these matters seriously . I have never had a problem with the CKC if something does go wrong with the registration certificate such as lost or stolen. With the submission of an affidavit from the breeder, they will issue a duplicate so it can be transferred to a new owner. |

Lorraine who has posted on this thread is located in B>C. I'm not sure how close to you. But I think she would be a good resource to find out about the local/provincial YT scene. |

The pet only no papers or with breeding rights is ridiculous to me. |

One other thing, it is very impolite coming on to a PUBLIC forum and insulting well respected and established members; just sayin...your rudeness is not becoming of a new member....remember; first impressions are very important:D |
Interesting thread. Am I to understand that it is wrong to be of the "opinion" that the deliberate breeding for tiny Yorkies is not acceptable on YT anymore? I see more and more posts by people who object to those "trouble makers" who "stir the pot" by posting their adverse "opinions" about such breeders. I realize this thread is old and has been seemingly reactivated by someone but since there are some well respected breeders here I wonder what your opinion is on the subject. I am not a breeder but I am adamint in my opposition of those who risk the health and welfare of any breed by irresponsible breeding practices. Yet, the trend seems to be more and more toward turning a blind eye to this type of thing. Maybe because of the influx of pet owners who prefer the tiny pocketbook pets? I would never come against the owner of such a dog but when people start naming such breeders is it wrong to state the facts about bad breeding practices? Is an adverse "opinion" wrong to give? Is it a responsibility to warn people of the consequences of such breeding? Or is it more acceptable just to say nothing? Is it now more PC to accept the current trend to buy from those who exploit the breed for profit? |
