| OMG - he is adorable!!! What's his name? Welcome to YorkieTalk! I got my little girl when she was 10 wks old and 1 pd 10 oz. Almost lost her 3 times to hypoglycemia. She was standing there one second and fell flat on her side the next. Scared the heck out of me. I had a little bag packed for her but one time that she went down I only had time to grab her - put her in my bra/shirt and drive to the vets... but I kept her warm. She had to stay at the vets 2 times! It's nothing to play with. We had to use a syringe and hand feed her for a long time. There were a lot of things she missed out on being taken from her Mom and littermates so early. It's such a shame when these people do this to these babies. I took off the first 3 weeks we had her. I just couldn't leave her when she was that little. Yes, your puppy will be up very little. He's like a new born baby. Sleep - eat - poop. I'd like to add that I think you should look for a new vet. If he wasn't familiar with a hypoglycemic episode or shocked that your puppy was taken so young - then I don't think he's too knowledgable on Toy Breeds. Start looking right away because he'll need to be seen again if his poo doesn't firm up soon. You have been given excellent advise here. Please come and ask if you have any questions. Good Luck with your little one.

| If you want, but contact your vet first, you can administer 1/2 cc of Pepto to stop the runny poop. The other thing that he might do is prescribe Albon, which is for Coccidia, but also used for dirreah in puppies, because it is mild and easy on their tummies.

| Mine do not even leave their pen at 5 weeks. They are still nursing part of the time, but also eat some puppy food. they will play for short periods of time. I do not blame you for not wanting to take him back, she would just turn around and sell him to some one else, if you could even get her to take him back. If you can get through the next two weeks, he should do fine. You need to treat him like an infant and not let the kids handle him too much. |

| When I look at that picture (which is so adorable) I wonder if the pup is more weeks than 4 but just small and ill. All the other 4 week pup pics i've seen they have nowhere near that length of hair for that age. I could be totally wrong.....my first litter is a week from 4 weeks and they are no where near that kind of length in hair yet. |

| I think vets usually judge age by the teeth. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | yes, I know, but my vet said that toy breeds sometimes brake all the rules.., so he might be a little slow in his develpment, my litter of silkies born November 22 just started peeking at eye opening TODAY, and they are 14 days old..some open their eyes at 10 and some later.. so he might be just a slow baby... |

| Cute pictures Carmen!!! I agree, I think maybe he is older - probably 10-12 weeks - but what about his teeth? Both of mine had their baby teeth while the adults were coming in. Oh well, I think I would just concentrate on getting him to eat and have a healthy poop. I wouldn't give him any shots right now - and keep him away from other dogs - even at the vets. Keep him up off the ground anywhere you go. Don't bring him out in public for walks either - they can pick up all kinds of crap from that. Get him healthy first - and then he can get socialized. Gez, I didn't mean to sound bossy here - sorry) Please keep us posted.

| The breeder had already given him shots. The vet said you usually don't give shots until 7 weeks. The breeder says he will make 8 weeks this week. I still don't know..he is little though 1 pound 3 oz vet says. what food do you all suggest after he is eating better. she had him on puppy chow and reccomended Royal canine 33?? however she sent me home with eukanuba, go figure. |
