I got my little girl when she was 10 wks old and 1 pd 10 oz. Almost lost her 3 times to hypoglycemia. She was standing there one second and fell flat on her side the next. Scared the heck out of me. I had a little bag packed for her but one time that she went down I only had time to grab her - put her in my bra/shirt and drive to the vets... but I kept her warm. She had to stay at the vets 2 times! It's nothing to play with. We had to use a syringe and hand feed her for a long time. There were a lot of things she missed out on being taken from her Mom and littermates so early. It's such a shame when these people do this to these babies. I took off the first 3 weeks we had her. I just couldn't leave her when she was that little.

Yes, your puppy will be up very little. He's like a new born baby. Sleep - eat - poop.

I'd like to add that I think you should look for a new vet. If he wasn't familiar with a hypoglycemic episode or shocked that your puppy was taken so young - then I don't think he's too knowledgable on Toy Breeds. Start looking right away because he'll need to be seen again if his poo doesn't firm up soon.
