| I'm new to this too, but from what I've heard from others, you can start offering them gruel anywhere from 3-4 weeks of age. I say 3-4, because I've always thought 4 weeks, but have heard of those feeding gruel as early as 3 weeks- not sure if there's a big difference or not. Some will probably take right to it, while others may prefer to nurse for longer. I think every puppy is different. I hope to see pictures soon. How much have your puppies gained this past week, I'm just comparing.

Yorkie Yakker | we are going to the vet today to get Daisy's staples out from the c-section and i'm going to get them weighed so i will know in just a little bit but they have gotten pretty fat in just a week. And Daisy is letting us hold them know so i guess she knows we are not going to hurt them. How are you babies doing? |

| They are doing great! Maya is recovering well from her c-section, her sutures are in the inside (the ones that dissolve) so that she wouldn't mess with them, so far so good. This morning for the first time, the incision area seemed to appear as though she may be messing with it just a bit, but hopefully she'll stop and just leave it alone. But yes, so far, everything has been looking just fine. The pups were right at 5 oz. at birth (one a little less than that), but now they are so very close to 7 oz. So I'm not too sure if that's where they should be, but at least they're constantly gaining a little each day. And I'm just so in love with these babies, as if they're my children, lol. It's amazing how these little ones had me even before they were born.
