| Question about selling/breeders I got a call today on my two yorkies for sale. This lady seems nice and all but I am a bit confused. She asked what I would take for both and them acted shocked when I told her what I would take. Then she asked me if I would trade for two puppies, she said that she didnt have any puppies at this time but she will in Dec. (should), but if I didnt want what she had friends that owe here pup's I could pick one of those. She said she would give me a contract even if I didnt trust her she would give me a check to hold until I got my puppies. What do you think?

| I don't get it. She wants to trade you her two puppies for your two puppies? Why? That sounds strange to me.

| Thats what I thought it was odd. Yea she told me that she wanted to get another male and female to have different relations or whatever you call it. I dont think she has money and deals on trading her dogs for others, not real sure. She asked me to come and see her place and dogs that she already has.

| I personally would definitely say NO! Just a little too weird in my opinion.

| yes, I have heard of trading puppies and a lot of breeders do it so they can bring in an outside line. BUT, that being said, it is just bad business to me. Right now, I would never do it. Who knows tho. I might change my mind if something nice came along and the other person wanted to. |

| There are a couple of people who I can think of that I might trade puppies with - but never someone whose reputation I am unfamiliar with. Basically, with a couple of exceptions, I wouldn't do it.

| I agree with Dee alot of breeder do trade pups to get different lines. I would only do it if I knew the person well and we shared the same breeding goals. |

| Personally, I wouldn't do it. How do you know what kind of breeding program she has and how she would treat your pups I would just keep looking for good forever homes where they would be much loved pets. She sounds kinda fishy anyhow, if she won't even have any pups until Dec.? |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | I would do it if I wanted to bring in outside lines and needed more females... but I would only give my pup when I got a pup. Unless I really knew the person well and was a good friend.

| I am going to meet her today and see where and how she lives and the yorkies that she has. I think then I could make a clearer decision. She really seems nice but people who try to steel do seem nice it is sad that it is so hard to trust someone. She said she would give me a check for the total amount and for me to hold it, but to me anyone can write a check and cancel it as well. She does just live 30 min from me so I think that is another good thing.

Plus the worst of the worst always sound nice...it is reputable breeders that have put their blood, sweat and tears into their lines that are a lot tougher about their dogs.
