| Puppies leaving soon what info can I give? Bella Mia's puppies new owners all have appointments this week and next week to visit us one last time before the pups go to their forever homes. I am wanting to give them an "info" sheet of what the new owners need to do or have for their new puppies arrival. I have detailed info about hypoglycemia, potty training etc in the puppies binders but I was thinking more like they need to an make appointment with vet, buy a crate things that could be done before puppy gets there........Any ideas? PS: Any ideas on how I can prepare myself for the day they leave? I already get teary eyed just thinking about it

| They probably all know to see the vet and buy a crate. I would find it condescending if someone told me that. However, I make up a tentative schedule of the puppies' day so they know what to expect from them. When they eat, when they sleep, when they poop etc. When and how much you feed them and where they like to sleep. I also send along a blanket that the puppies have been sleeping on so it smells like their litter mates. Preparing yourself is much more difficult. I find it to be bitter sweet. The new owners asre so happy it makes the leaving less sad. I give them all a kiss good bye and wish them a "Happy Life" That is where I always tear up. Sniff* sniff* I need a tissue now. |

| I would have loved it if my breeder had clued me in on vaccines. There are so many vets over vaccinating that it would have been nice to have had Dr. Dodds print out in my instructions.....I'm speaking from a buyers point of view. Vaccination Schedule Recommendations For Dogs

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Oh my, I spend at least an hour with each of the puppies' parents. We have put together about a 20 page book with pertinent information about the breed, the puppy, the food, vaccinations, harnesses vs. leashes; potty pads vs. paper pads, and the list is just beginning,. |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | When my first litter left 2 years ago, each new family had the AKC papers, my contract, and a puppy info sheet with a little bit pertinent to Yorkie puppy care; some of what you have already mentioned, as well as grooming, feeding, precautions to take with a tiny puppy/small dog in the home, etc., etc. I had also printed out a sheet or two of wallet sized photos of the pups from birth until the age they went to their new homes. It is hard to see them leave, but it helps knowing you've found them new families that will love them (almost) as much as you do. I have been able to keep in contact with the most of the owners of our pups, I hope you can too.

I know that each of the families individually will be able to give their puppy more attention, spoiling, affection, financial if needed and love then if I kept all the puppies. Yet I adore those puppies with all my heart and will miss the beegeezees out of them. I am greeted daily with 5 puppies jumping in my lap giving me lots of smoochies! Hard not to miss that. I do believe all the new mommies and daddies will truly keep in touch and send pictures. I will be able to visit 3 of them regularly and 1 occasionally and 1 we are keeping. I do take comfort in that.
