| This Makes me Angry!!!!! Okay here is what happened this morning. The first week in August we have a huge yard sale that goes on our major highway thru ALA, TENN, Ky and on northward. I am having trouble with my show dog being fearful suddenly so I had a bright idea to put his show bow and show lead on and go walk around a little before it gets to hot. i went to one of the sales just up from my house. it is out on a big farm in a field and they had about one hundred or so vendors set up. Like a big flea market. I parked my car and got myself and my dog out and heard this little yappy dog. The very first stall I came to they were selling puppies. Chi's, Shztu's and YORKIES. The man looked at Cash and said I have one that looks like him. I asked to see him and he was a rag but had the same coloring and etc that cash has. Very ragged and dirty looking. I asked him what his bloodline is and the man just shrugged his shoulders. He said not many people even ask and asked me if I knew what Cash's line is. I said, "you better believe it and for what I paid for him, it's a good one." They had signs posted. The yorkies were 350, chi's 250 and shiztu'z 250. They were all pretty little dogs and all were clean except the yorkies. NO PAPERS. He also had parti's and Biewers at home, he said. But I just walked on shaking my head. It is no wonder people like me and the other breeders on here are seeing a decrease in puppy sales. No one wants a nice puppy. They want cheap. I told him I had a pup for sale and he asked how much (Not that I would EVER sell to someone like him) and he nearly gagged on his coffee when I told him. I also told him all I do for my puppies. he couldn't believe it. I have a little tiny male puppy for sale but I wouldd keep him forever rather than let him go to someone like this or even that cheap. On the other side of it, I do hope someone comes along and buys the puppies today. it is going to be near 100 degrees here. |

| That is very upsetting. I don't know why there are not laws against selling puppies at flea markets or in pet stores. They have laws against it in the UK. He is obviously a puppy miller to have so many breeds. Sound like he has never even seen a show dog. |

| obviously, he was from out of state. I almost asked him if he was from PA. If I had the money tho I would have bought one or two of them. I don't know what I would do with them but they would have been rescued. |

| I can understand how you felt Dee. I saw my first "puppies for sale" at a flea market just a few miles from me. No Yorkies, but the cutest little puppies...terriers of some sort. I was so upset to see these puppies in a crate on the tailgate of their truck. I was with my mother and as we walked by, Mom said "they have puppies" and I just told her that we weren't even going to look. Makes me too sad to think that they would just sell to anyone off the street.

| We used to see puppies for sale at just about every flea market in Florida and I hated it. Those poor little things were barely weaned for the most part...it was hot...some had no water and the cages were usually crowded and dirty. They had absolutely no regard for who bought their pups...just who had the money to buy them. I watched a young girl purchase a super tiny Chi puppy one day...it made me sick...the lady kept saying it would be a pocket puppy, barely 1 pound and it was 12 weeks old. Well...you could look at the poor thing and tell it wasn't anywhere near 12 weeks! |

| Those puppies were probably in the shade under a tree but hot is hot. The last time my husband and I sat down at Taco Bell to grab a taco we looked out the window at the Walmart parking lot. There was a big white truck with a handwritten cardboard sign. "Free Boxers". They must have had 7 or 8 little puppies and the mother dog in the back end of the truck. It was 95 degrees and they were in the sun. The lady was carrying an umbrella to protect her from the sun. It appeared to be a family (man, woman, teenage boy). The puppies were cute but my thought was...why did they have to spend their last afternoon with those cruddy people like that. I wanted to get a couple of them but I know how difficult it would be to find a home for dogs like that. They looked like boxer/lab mixes and we all know the dog pounds are filled with lab mixes.

| That is awful! You see why good quality yorkies are hard to sell, people think well I can buy one for $400.00, why would I buy yours for $2000.00. Most do not understand what they are even buying! But will be the first to complain when there cheaper yorkie starts to have problems! I see people around here with puppies for sale{not yorkies} sitting along the road or in parking lots on really hot days, selling them for $100.00.

The man about fell over when I told him what I want for this little male I have for sale. he said is it because he will be a tiny one and I told him no it is because he is a high quality puppy. he didn't seem to understand that concept. I am advertising my guy several places except here where he is too young yet, but nearly everyone wants a girl or a three-four hundred dollar puppy. It ain't happening at my house. | |
