| Signs of pregnancy? So my lil girl was bred on July 1st, 3rd & then on the 7th. We are approaching week 4.. still she doesnt seem to have any signs of pregnancy. I thought that as a 1st time mom you can tell the breasts change almost immediately. I have seen somewhat of a different pattern in play/sleeping, she is being VERY,VERY dominate, VERY protectiveness- she likes to snap at the others more often now a days. But i was wondering, could we maybe just be almost a week behind since her last tie was almost a week after the 1st? here's a pic...P702 was on July 2nd & P722 was today! what do u ladies think? |

| I think it is much to early to tell. Most of the time they have to be 5 to 6 weeks along before you know for sure. If you took her to a vet he could palpate her and possible tell if she is pregnant but I think the best thing to do is just wait. |

| Sometimes they have a little morning sickness at week 3 or 4. Have you noticed anything like that?

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | How about a loss of appetite? My girl had a loss of appetite-she's just getting it back now at 5 weeks, but vomited maybe only once....it that was in fact due to pregnancy.

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Ugh, this is such a trying time.....the not knowing, wondering......ya think you see or notice a change, and then you don't. I took Halle in for the vet to palpitate and she couldn't feel any pups on day 28(ish). Don't know if it was to early, or cuz there was only one pup, a full bladder, or some other reason. She was having all the signs of early pregnancy, that's why I went for the ultrasound....for my peace of mind. Now I can relax & enjoy for a while. Good luck to you, I hope she is.

| Are her nipples pink and larger than usual? By 5 weeks you can usually notice a change in them - also you might notice a slight thickening in the belly area, but if there is only one puppy it is sometimes longer than 5 weeks before you notice a change. Regarding organogenesis, I'm not sure what you can do to avoid damage. I wouldn't give Heartguard or Frontline if I think she is pregnant, even though they say it is safe. I wouldn't take the chance.

| Hey... I thought for organogensis there was other things I should avoid, but all that I have stopped. one thing i have somewhat noticed- appetite is changing. a loss of it though... I gave her a hard boiled egg this morning & she gobbled it up... she is loving the saltine crackers too, also- would i see a change in wanting to go outside more often by now?? B/c shes asking more often! I really hope we dont have JUST one puppy. If we do ONLY get one puppy, how do we go about that with the stud owner? |
