My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | ![]() Thanks everyone for the kind words. Ok I am a member of a canine repro group and some one mentioned that if you cant get the drug then you can use brandy or vanilla extract as well. Same thing, a drop under the tounge. Anyone hear of this? |

The other thing that you may try. Is a Y board.....and strapping the puppy to it with paper med tape. gently angle the Y board with the puppy's head down. This is to get all the fluids out of the lungs,

| ![]() I have heard of quite a few breeders using Brandy under the tounge before. They say its works. I have never needed to use it so I dont have any personal knowledge of it.

| ![]() Breny, I've sent off an e-mail. Since she's an RN I don't know what her work schedule is... Here's what I'm reading. Oxygen enriched air is necessary for pups having difficulty breathing. If a pup is very congested, you should instigate Amoxicillin therapy and a couple of drops of Benadryl (for infants) or Temaril P (if you have it, a few granules in the glucose solution is sufficient once a day for two days). Check with your veterinarian because this Temaril P is a prescription drug used used for respiratory problems.
