| Questions about newborn puppies crying...Please help My Madison had to males, July 1st. Very large males! Both parents R 5lbs, pups were 6.3oz and 6.8oz. Both pups are over 12 oz as of this morning. They have been to the vet, tails and dew claws done (3 days old). My questions are: Pups seem to cry a lot, do pups cry 4 no reason? They don't seem to want NE thing. They R relieved-I do it and Madi's a good Mom. Is it possible that they eat too much? Tummy Aches? Madison isn't upset by there crying. Should I just trust her instinct? It is our (Madison&My) 1st liter, am I worrying too much? Is there anything I can do to soothe them? Thanks in advance for your help it is very much appreciated!

| Puppies do not usually cry for no reason. You say you relieve them, is there a reason momma is not doing that? Are they crying when momma leaves the whelping box or when she is laying with them? Does momma have lots of milk? If momma has lots of milk they can over eat and get a tummy ache. If she does not have enough milk they could possible still be hungry. How warm is the whelping box and the room they are in? Did the crying start after the tails were docked? If you suspect is it a tummy ache I do recommend the malacon drops also. |

| They definately could be cold. Thier area needs to be very warm and draft free. If this started after the tails were docked I would check them out and make sure there isn't anything going on there like infection.

| They cry after they eat, I guess, they don't want to eat any more. The one especially, He just whines with a little throaty growl he's not yelping or anything. That is why I was wondering if they cry-like babies do. Thank You for your help, I really appreciate it! Robin

I would try what the others said; maybe he has a tummy ache. By their sizes, it certainly doesn't seem like they're hungry. | |

| Thank U, yes their area is warm, draft free, fleece blankets, and their Mommy. I have the windows closed, it isn't cold in here. It did start before they had their tails done. I think having their tails done affected Mommy more than the pups. It took her 24 hrs to calm down, stop digging at the blankets etc. Thank You I do really appreciate your help! Robin

| I think the gripe water is the same but you should call your vet and ask for an equivlent to to the mylacon drops.
