I would like to give a big KUDOS to those breeders that called her. It really shows that you genuinely care about animals. Good job helping out!! I just seen this thread and part way through I was starting to wonder if anyone with experience was going to be able to help. |

Awesome! |
Tammys, it sounds like you've been through the wringer with your pups. I've never had that situation but have had to hand feed pups too weak to nurse. I know about living on naps LOL. |

LOL, you're not kidding! I have never been a nap person, but I love them now! |
Just got home from a ball game and saw how you spent your day! Glad there were some experienced breeders here to lend a helping hand. You cannot beat this place for big-hearted folks that are always willing to help! Sounds like you are letting your girl finish up at home. I want to pass on a little advice. Since this has not been the smoothest of deliveries, I would still take your girl in tomorrow for the oxy shot, to make sure she does really clean herself out and does not retain even a small piece of placenta somewhere. I don't want to add a tragic story in the midst of your joy, suffice it to say, I learned a difficult lesson. If I do ever breed again, I am going to make that shot a standard procedure for all moms after they give birth. Better a few extra contractions and be safe, than have something in there start an infection. Hope you and momma dog are all done now and able to get some rest. I know you will be checking on them all night but maybe you can gets some naps in. :) Congratulations on the puppies! Will be looking forward to seeing them grow up in the nursery! |
Just checkin in . . .I went to bed last night . .. didn't hear about the 4th pup . . .hope everything is well . . . |
4th pup had some trouble. I cleared air ways helping her breath, swung her everything I could. She is here with us but weak. She has nursed alittle. I had to hand feed all four all night. I'm thinking about taking sadie to the hospital today. worried about infection?? I am so grateful for all the people who heard my cry of help. They were here for me. God bless them all. |

You stiull need to take mama into the vet today to get the clean out shot (OXCYTOCIN) since you had so much trouble. Take the babies too and let him check them. Be very careful feeding the babies on your own. if the milk gets into the lungs, it can cause aspiration pneumonia. Keep us updated. Congratulations on the babies. |
