Thanks. I just read that in the other threat. I am so glad to hear that. I am a nervous wreck for her; I can only imagine how she must feel. |
I know! It's so hard to do things like that online . . .I was trying to help the best I could . . .I'm sure everything will turn out ok . . .:) Ok, well, I need to relax . . .I'm off to play Uno on Facebook . . .:D |

Exactly! I wish I could just have just been there to help her - not that have any more experience than my yorkie's delivery, a calf, some kittens, and my 5 kiddos, but she just seemed so nervous, and it was a scary situation. I know you were a big help and lots of support. According to my previous post, I can't even spell. LOL Threat - thread! LMBO! |
Ok, on my other thread I guess she is still home and the 3rd pup is on it's way . . .Woogie Man called her . . . Geeze, I can't even get myself to relax and play Uno . . .LOL |

It's also hard, b/c there are two threads going about the same situation. I just hope she finishes up soon. They have to be exhausted! |
So how did your delivery go? Was that your pup's first delivery too? |
I'm hoping no news is good news. She said she would call me if she needed to. When I got off the phone with her, she was saying another pup was coming but I'm not sure if the pup was presented or she was just starting hard contractions. It may be a little while if the pup wasn't presented. |
We are just watching and waiting over here . . .I keep refreshing and opening up another tab to play Uno while I wait . . .I can't concentrate though . . . |

Do you mean ours? Cassie is 9 1/2 years old, and it was her first - we are the poster children to spay your dog, b/c it was a surprise pregnancy! Luckily, it was our neighbors Yorkie, who is half her size! She had a great delivery. She had two puppies in less than three hours from the first contraction to the last puppy, with no complications, except for one retained placenta, which the vet just massaged out. :) After the delivery has been another story! |

Yea, at her age, it really could have turned out badly. Well, where do I start - I'll just number the issues; it will be easier: 1. The day after they were born, mama got sick with vomiting and diarrhea, and didn't have much milk. 2. The babies were losing weight, and one of them had to be bottle-fed along with nursing until mama got more milk. 3. Mama pulled the stitches out of the girl's tail the day they were docked. 4. The tail was glued the next day, and she pulled the glue out that night. 5. She licked the girl's tail so much that it was bleeding, and bald on the bottom 6. Then she found out that the boy had a tail too - made that one bleed. 7. We finally decided we had to remove mom from babies and bring her to them every two hours to nurse. Needless to day, we have not gotten much sleep! 8. Because we totally disrupted her natural instinct, we would have to hold her down to nurse, b/c she would jump out of the box. 9. She could not stimulate them, b/c she would make their tails bleed, so we had to do it. They wouldn't poop, so after around 24 hours, my friend, a vet, said to give them a warm water enema, which we still have to do in order for them to poop, so they will only poop once/day 10. Their tails are much, much, much better now, but they still will not poop when she licks them, so we still have to do the daily warm water enema. She still licks them way more than is necessary - I mean almost non-stop when she's nursing them, so we have to watch her when she's with them. 11. On a lighter note, mama has adopted a squeaky toy as a 3rd baby and carries it around everywhere. She digs, pants, and paces with it in her mouth, like she is carrying around a baby while she's in false labor. Her poor hormones are a wreck! Their birth weights were: boy 5. 2 oz and girl 5.1 oz. They are now: boy 12.2 oz and girl 14.4 oz So, besides the poopie thing, they are doing great! :) |
