| What should I do with mom and lil man? I have to go out of town Friday. It's only 45 min away ( my babies are used to going every weekend with me) but now my lil girl is a mommy. Lil man will only be 5 days old. Would he be okay going in the car with mom? |

| IMO... No, I would not take a 5 day old baby out and expose it to who know what. Mom need to stay with the baby too. Babies should only be taken out to go to the Vets and back. Can you cancle your plans or find someone to stay with the mom and baby??? |

My pups or mom don't even go to the vets until they've had their 2nd shots. He prefers it that way, doesn't want them exposed to whatever is in the office. I've had to cancel vacations, weddings, Christmas dinners, because a mom was ready to whelp and/or pups were too young to be away from them. If you breed you must be prepared to give up at least 8 weeks of your life.

Hopefully you can either cancel or have someone come stay at your house? Best of luck to you and your new litter! | |

Mine don't leave my bedroom, where they're whelped, for the first 8 weeks of their life, then it's only to a confined area in the kitchen with mom.
