Can you cancle your plans or find someone to stay with the mom and baby???
Totally agree. Exposing mom and baby to who knows what. Not only that you take that pup out, people will want to handle it. Overhandling not only exposes it to who knows what but, hyperglycemia....guess what a puppy that age will die. Besides stressing out mom, which may dry up her milk. Then you're up against hand raising a pup.

My pups or mom don't even go to the vets until they've had their 2nd shots. He prefers it that way, doesn't want them exposed to whatever is in the office.

I've had to cancel vacations, weddings, Christmas dinners, because a mom was ready to whelp and/or pups were too young to be away from them.

If you breed you must be prepared to give up at least 8 weeks of your life.
