Pregnant yorkie thrown away in garbage
 

hello my yorkietalk family

I went to take my children to the park today for lunch. As they were playing I looked at the trash dumbster because I kept hearing cries. I went to the dumpster and looked in and to my suprise there was a large yorkie in a garabage bag begging for her life. I immediately opened the bag gathered my kids and took her to my vet. The vet fed her some fluids and she began to jump and play so we new that she was going to be fine. I figured that her owners no longer wanted her because they threw her away so I am taking her in and giving her the love that she needs. The vet said that she was indeed pregnant and her milk has come in already. The vet thinks that he saw around 7 puppies on the xray. She is a rather large yorkie around 11 pounds. I am glad that I was at the park today otherwise she may have died. I am so heartbroken that someone can do this to any pet. I guess my hands are going to be full because I am a owner of two yorkies which one may also be pregnant because of two ties on May 11th and May 12th. I feel like I am doing the right thing by taking in the yorkie which by the way is very beautiful. I guess I will be putting her pups up for apotion because I don't know who she was mated with. Thank goodness you rescued her! I hope her whelping goes ok. Keep an eye on her, hopefully she didn't mate with a dog that was much bigger than she.....sounds like you have a good vet, that will help you through any potential problems. Best of luck to you!

GOD placed you on the right place at the right time. You saved this little girl's life today, and I know by experience that dogs don't forget a kind hand. She is going to be very attached to you from now on

OMG I hate reading things like this. I wish they could find who did it and then do the same thing to them. I wonder if it's pregnant by another yorkie or another kind of dog? I hope and pray it's not some huge dog that got her pg. Are you going to take the mother dog after it has babies? Thank God that he lead you to this precious baby

Wow, I can't believe someone would throw a dog away in the trash. How could anyone be so cruel. They could have taken the dog to a shelter if they had to, but the trash:confused: How could they sleep at night. I am so glad you found her and she will be ok. She is one lucky little dog!

Thank god you were at the park today to save that little momma. I hope everything goes well with her whelping. Thankfully she found a great person like you to help her along

Yes I will be keeping her as I love her already. The vet said that the puppies didn't appear to be big from the ultrasound. She is already digging in the whelping box I got for my other yorkie so I assume she is getting ready for her birth. My vet is going to moniter her weeky until she thinks she is near so she can give birth in the office which is also twenty four hour emergency hospital and if a C-section needs to be performed she is doing it free of charge. When her temp drops my vet is going to admit her so she can have around the clock care because she feels that she has been through enough pain already. She also offered to give all the pups their shots and spay/nueter them when ready.

I don't understand how someone could do that. It makes me sick to my stomach to think of what that poor little girl was going through before you found her.

People steal dogs all of the time, maybe the owner didn't do it. Could have been an evil spouse, mean teenager, jealous,aggravated neighbor. Don't always blame the owner in their absence !

WOW she is one lucky dog to have been found and I hope they catch who did that - which I doubt but reading this makes me feel good that there are still caring doctors out there - You are the hero .....but it's too bad all vets aren't like yours is....

OMG! What a terrible sickening thing to read let alone find! I am so thankful to you for being there and taking that sweet little girl in. Kudos to your vet! When does the vet think she's due, or can she tell? You are a real sweetheart, and your vet sounds awesome! Not too many vets would do that. I think you have a little angel on your shoulder

I really commend you for doing that. I don't think it was by accident that you were there and the one to find her. What a wonderful thing to do for that poor little thing. I have said on here before and I still say the same thing that I hope there is a special place in hell for people like that. How could anyone be that cruel and uncaring?

This angers & saddens me to no end! I find it simply amazing at the cold heartless people that we live among. I am so relieved to hear that you were able to come to her and the puppies rescue! You are indeed an angel to this little (or big) girl. Please post pictures and keep us updated on everything!

It never ceases to amaze me how heartless people can be! How anyone can do that to any animal, much less a pregnant yorkie is just unthinkable. I am so glad you were there today to find her and take her in to give her the love she deserves. You are her guardian angel. Your vet sounds like as much as an angel as yourself for offering to care for her during her whelp and for the care of the pups afterwards.
Good luck to you and the expectant mama. Have you given her a name yet? Please, please keep us posted on her final days of pregnancy and her whelping. We all would love to meet her & her pups through pictures too!

I live close to you and I am looking for a new vet. Would you please give me the name of your vet so that I can use your Dr.? She/He sounds like they are an amazing care-giver and that is what kind of Dr. I need for my baby.

I am a huge believer in things happen for a reason...Thank God you were guided to go to the park that day!! That sweet angel will now have a wonderful, safe life with a loving family!

I live in Lancaster, Pa. and would love to adopt one of the female pups when it's ready to go to it's forever home. Please let me know...:) I can't wait to see pics of the Mom-To-Be...
