i went to take my children to the park today for lunch. As they were playing i looked at the trash dumbster because i kept hearing cries. I went to the dumpster and looked in and to my suprise there was a large yorkie in a garabage bag begging for her life. I immediately opened the bag gathered my kids and took her to my vet. The vet fed her some fluids and she began to jump and play so we new that she was going to be fine. I figured that her owners no longer wanted her because they threw her away so i am taking her in and giving her the love that she needs. The vet said that she was indeed pregnant and her milk has come in already. The vet thinks that he saw around 7 puppies on the xray. She is a rather large yorkie around 11 pounds. I am glad that i was at the park today otherwise she may have died. I am so heartbroken that someone can do this to any pet. I guess my hands are going to be full because i am a owner of two yorkies which one may also be pregnant because of two ties on may 11th and may 12th. I feel like i am doing the right thing by taking in the yorkie which by the way is very beautiful. I guess i will be putting her pups up for apotion because i don't know who she was mated with. Thanks for listening

you indeed r an angel! Whatever u decide to do w/ the pups they r just sooooo lucky u were there! Good luck!

NO, did you? I hope someone would not be so inconsiderate as to post this as a hoax!!!

mamartini 05-23-2009 07:30 PM

I hope that wouldn't happen. To have a scam invade our forum, that would be to worst.

No, did they say why they thought it was a hoax? I had noticed she has not been back on to post since the 18th, and that the only posts she has made are in this thread and one other about mating her two yorkies. I was also very surprised a vet would be off so much when looking at an xray to count puppies (said there were 7 and there were only 2 -- never heard of anything like that before!) But, still not sure that is all enough to call it a hoax. Am I being naive?

DaisyMaesMama 05-23-2009 08:09 PM

I was not the one that said this was a hoax, but from the beginning I had my suspicions. I just didn't want to say anything yet until others felt that way. My reasons for asking her in the first few posts the name of her vet was because I had doubts this was a true story. Of course I received no answer, although everyone else did on their questions.:confused:

I know many people are going to be a little more than p****d off if this is a lie. I guess there is no way we are going to know for sure. There were just too may details that just sounded too good to be true.

I really hope I am wrong about my doubts. I will be the first to step up and apologize if I am shown solid proof.

Just looking for news, pics, updates......

FlDebra 05-24-2009 12:23 AM

I went back and read the posts again. I really want to believe but there certainly are some suspicious details.
5/16 She says the yorkie is large (11 lbs), the vet saw 7 puppies on xray

5/16 Another post she says the vet said puppies do not appear big on ultrasound. She also says: ". My vet is going to moniter her weeky until she thinks she is near so she can give birth in the office which is also twenty four hour emergency hospital and if a C-section needs to be performed she is doing it free of charge. When her temp drops my vet is going to admit her so she can have around the clock care because she feels that she has been through enough pain already. She also offered to give all the pups their shots and spay/nueter them when ready."

5/17 She writes: "Well she had two puppies this morning. They were huge and the vet said they were pitbulls. " and "The puppies are with me as I am bottle feeding them because Heaven is recovering and they are way too big for her to nurse."

Now why would any vet think he sees 7 puppies when there are only 2? Why would the same vet say he was going to monitor her weekly until she was close to having puppies when she was already so close she had them half a day later? Why would same vet say on the day of birth what sort of puppies he thought they were mixed with when so many breeds start out looking almost identical? Then why would two puppies, which "did not appear big on ultrasound" but are now huge at birth be too much for an 11 pound Yorkie to nurse, especially during those crucial first 2 days when they need to get the antibodies? I cannot imagine any vet sending the puppies home for the owner to bottle feed because they were too large -- not on the day they were born. Sure they conceivably could get too large to continue nursing, but not on the day of birth. Something is wrong here -- either this vet is a total whack or we are not getting the right info.

luvfla 05-24-2009 12:28 AM

ummm...I was kinda thinking the same thing. Maybe someone wanted to see how long the thread would get.....

manolos mom 05-24-2009 04:38 AM

Wow, just reading this again. Why would someone come online to stir up some drama....

YorkieRose 05-24-2009 05:48 AM

How long do you think it would take a "large" Yokie to chew through a plastic garbage bag..I have seen a 4 pounder chew a hole big enough to get out of a plastic screen door in about 3 mins....then I got the email saying it was a hoax, but who knows?

ldvpool7 05-24-2009 06:01 AM

wow...

Amazing...made me cry thinking about that poor thing in a garbage bag........in a dumpster. Along came you an Angel of Mercy. Thank you for taking the mama in.

Those were my feeling from the beginning. That is why I asked her what kind of bag the dog was in but she never replied. Some people just get a laugh out of getting everyone emotionally stirred up. I think it is sad because most of us do get so emotionally involved when hear about helpless animals being hurt and injured whether it is a accident or purposely done.

Well, my Wylie chewed through a BABY GATE when he was 10mths old - he probably weighed 5 lbs at the time, if that.

Hmmmm...not sure what's going on here.

Finnigan chewed through a baby gate at that age too! He weighed 4lbs at the time.

DaisyMaesMama 05-24-2009 08:08 AM

I had all of those thoughts too Debra. From the beginning.

I think we all have been the brunt of someones sick, disgusting joke.

I wish I could really express what I am thinking right now, but I would surely be banned.

Ya know Sometimes we get members who have nothing better to do than to stir up some drama. We get all up set, yes I cried over this one.
I was in shock when I thought that really happened. Now I'm thinking this was just one of those stories, and the OP won't be back, at least not under that member name. Please don't get upset with me after all this is just my opinion. It's just things aren't adding up here, and I've seen it before.

Hugs to all who were sadden by this one. It really made a sad day for a lot of us.:ghug:

If by chance I'm wrong on this one, I do apologize to the OP.

Don't get banned!!! It's not worth it!
(just say it out loud, it will make you feel better)

kalina82 05-24-2009 08:17 AM

this may have been a joke but it may not have been. one never knows on the internet. lets just see if she comes back to post pictures this weekend like she said she would.

jasminr 05-24-2009 08:56 AM

This was not a joke because is not funny, it is just a lie that's for sure coz everything is a huge non sense since the beggining, it made me really angry to think about a poor dog being putting away in a garbage bag, but thinking clearly later it din not make any sense, perrito DESTROYED the carpet when he was 3 months and it happened in less than 2 hrs

I did not want to feel negative niether.. but I questioned quietly these same things.. I hope also I am wrong.. and did not want to jump in and question but nothing new I see... no pictures.. anne
