This is such a sad story, I am so glad you found and love this little girl. I hope she recovers well and is a good mommy to those babies. It is wonderful that you have taken this all on with such love and care. Regardless of what breed mix they are, these pups as well as Heaven at least have the chance of a happy life ahead.

Britster 05-18-2009 07:40 PM

Pics please! lol. What a great story. I am very close to you, as I said, so don't hesitate to PM me on here if you need help.

msjagg 05-18-2009 08:04 PM

So glad that Heaven and the pups are doing well. Give her a few days to recuperate and I'm sure she'll want to nurse them! I think it's impossible for them to be Pit mixes. She would've been seriously hurt during the mating. They're more likely Boston Terrier, Pekenese, French Bulldog,Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Japanese Chin or Pug mixes. As young as they are they prob. have that Bully look to them. Are they Boys/girls? I'm still interested in a girl if one needs a home. I can't wait to see pics of the little cuties and their Mommy. Blessings and Hugs to you all, :hands::hug:

gunnar08 05-18-2009 09:37 PM

I'm always shocked to hear how cruel people can be to other people or animals. Thank God there are more nice people in the world, you and your vet, than evil!
Thanks for all you and your vet have done. You restore faith in mankind.
((((hugs)))) Donna

FlDebra 05-18-2009 09:50 PM

Bless your heart and thank God you heard those poor terrified cries for help! I cannot believe anyone could do anything so heartless and downright evil! You will indeed have your hands full, but I am betting the experience will be its own reward. Thank goodness for people like you in this world! Hearing someone could do such a horrid thing could very well make me lose faith in human kind. But also hearing someone like you did not hesitate to take on such a responsibility for the sake of the dog and puppies restores that same faith! I am sure the good Lord above is smiling down on you today!

I really can't imagine a pitbull breeding a yorkie. I hope Heaven makes a speedy recovery. If at all possible you should try to let the pups nurse some so they can get some colostrum. It can be very challenging hand raising newborn puppies. The mom will need to lick them and stimulate them.

My thoughts exactly! When the vet counts pups, he usually counts spines. How on earth he mistook 2 for 7 is beyond me. A vet might miss one but counting 5 extra???? Very odd.

And trying to tell the day of birth what kind of puppies make up a mix is impossible. I just am not sure I would stick with this vet unless his compassion outweighs some questionable statements. Love your name for your rescued Yorkie -- hope the pups continue to thrive! I would be curious to know how much the "huge" pups weighed too. Definately try to let momma nurse as much as possible -- it will be so much better for all concerned -- momma, pups and you!

I would let it go, protect this little one as much as I could and
just love her and thank the good Lord I was there to save her.
This sicko will get his or hers somewhere down the line.
Thank you so much for being in the right place at the right time.
God does work in mysterious ways dosen't he?
Can't wait to see pictures. Prayer's coming for a safe welping
and beautiful, healthy puppies.

Yes, I think you're right. At first I was thinking that someone NEEDS to be punished for this, but what if they tried to take Heaven back?! She obviously has a good home now and that is what is most important. Karma will catch up with the old owner (or whoever dumped her) in time.

ferraritiffie 05-18-2009 11:46 PM

OMG I can't fathom a person that could dump a yorkie! That's just horrific. I'm glad you found her and the pups are doing well.

It's heart warming to know that there are people like you who reach out and help an animal in need without a second thought. Bless you!

Maybe because she was pregnant with mutt pups. People are strange some consider that almost like a contamination of sorts. Also some people are just nuts, we adopted a beautiful show cat from the Humane Society that we kept for 12 years till he died for $30.00. He was taken there after the owner had wanted him put to sleep. He got a scratch on him and couldn't be shown anymore so he was worthless to the owner. We adopted him and got so many compliments on him and offers to buy him from us we were worried one day someone might steal him from us. People are to eager to dump or kill an animal when someone else would give it a loving home.

Yes I will be keeping her as I love her already. The vet said that the puppies didn't appear to be big from the ultrasound. She is already digging in the whelping box I got for my other yorkie so I assume she is getting ready for her birth. My vet is going to moniter her weeky until she thinks she is near so she can give birth in the office which is also twenty four hour emergency hospital and if a C-section needs to be performed she is doing it free of charge. When her temp drops my vet is going to admit her so she can have around the clock care because she feels that she has been through enough pain already. She also offered to give all the pups their shots and spay/nueter them when ready.

Thank god you were there to save her! It never ceases to amaze me the horrid people in this world that would do something like this to a poor little pup! You are very lucky to have such a wonderful vet willing to step up and help you with both momma and babies. Please keep us posted and of course Welcome to YT :)

postalmom1987 05-19-2009 10:34 PM

What a "Heaven" guided moment that put you in that park that day. Thanks for saving that precious little mom to be. And tell your vet "Thanks" too. I'm glad that you are adopting Heaven. Don't give her back. Someone was unimaginably horrible, and not human. They will hopefully have their Karma catch up with them!!!!

klittle0024 05-20-2009 07:45 AM

Bless you!!! There is a reason you were there to find that momma today.
Some people make me SO sick!!! How could you possibly even consider that?!!!?
But the bright side is YOU saved that momma and her pups :thumbup::thumbup::) YAY FOR YOU!!!

dianethomas 05-20-2009 09:26 AM

how goes the bottle feeding?

starstella92 05-20-2009 09:58 AM

I can't believe someone would do that! That so sad! Lucky for her, you found her. She certainly wouldn't be alive without you. What a wonderful vet you have to be willing to waive all charges. Thanks for sharing this sad story. It really makes you wonder about people. She's lucky to have you. I hope everything turns out with the puppies. I can't wait to see what they look like! :):)

PennysMum 05-20-2009 09:59 AM

It is so wonderful that you were there to save her...

The pit bull hypothesis wouldn't be impossible! At one of the clinics where I worked a few years back, someone brought in a beautiful little 15lb beagle who had a lurid affair with their pit and had a litter of pups. The owners were kind of naive-- they hadn't had them altered, and they thought that the pit would be too big to father any pups with the beagle... Momma, Daddy and pups were all fine, but Daddy got neutered three days after the owners found out that Momma was expecting. =p What was crazy was that the little beagle didn't even need a c-section-- she delivered her pups all on her own!

Whatever your pups might be, I'm sure they'll be beautiful. :)

kfrazer42 05-20-2009 10:58 AM

Yeah that makes me sick! Some people don't deserve to live as normal people. Someone should throw that person away!
You are a wonderful person for saving that pup! Good Job!
I'll always think of ya!

LillieDoodle 05-20-2009 11:00 AM

I cannot believe this happened. That is terrible. I am in the Maryland area so any help you need, please let me know.

Thanks again for saving this pup.

I'm sorry but if it were me no matter what I had to do I would do it. I could not afford the money up front but I would figure it out in the long run. The same as I would do for my kids because my dogs are just like my kids to me. Not everyone is like that.
