| For a quick help to keep formula warm. Boil water in a pan. Put your formula in a cup. Preheat formula 1st then put cup of formula in pan of hot water. It should just stay warm enough to feed them. You definately have alot of work to do. I would not worry about tails if they are part Maltese. Like ur vet said better healthy puppy with tail. Sue |

| One more thing if formula starts coming out nose you are feeding to fast or too much. Better to go slow so it does not wind up in lung. If you do not have a nose syringe(bulb) sometimes if you hold puppy upside down with both hands and shake gently the formula will come back out. Hold tight though and do not drop the puppy. Make very sure you hold head securely too. Sue |

| I noticed that my #1 puppy and my #4 puppy are the ones that try to inhale the formula (they are also the biggest) and they are the ones that have it shoot out their little noses. I am going to try a new nipple with a smaller hole, I think the hole is getting too big, they are definitely getting to much. As far as the "maltese" daddy, I seriously dont think he is. He has big splotches of gray on him, with wiry hair, although his little puppy from his first "love fest" does look a lot like a cotton ball with soft fluffy white hair and just a little black.. He was bred with a yorkie the first time, too. I keep asking "are you SURE he is a maltese?" and I keep getting told yes. But since my pups look so much like mama, we really do want the tails docked, if it is a healthy thing to do at this point. hubby tried to attach pics last night, they would not attach, but when I logged on, the pic is now my new window screen. lol I think we are making progress.... If you look at DanielleAllen's avatar, that is pretty much what our babies look like. I will try that website that was mentioned earlier to try and resize them and see if THAT works.

| When I was bottle feeding Zacchie, I kept a large mug half-full of water on an electric candle warmer. The water was really hot, and I just put the bottle in it for a few seconds to heat. If it got a little too warm, I dipped it in a glass of ice water for a second, and always tested on my inner wrist. You could also use a miniature potpourri crock. Both can be found at Wal-mart in the candle aisle.

But I will just go buy another one. I am so tired of heating water in the microwave fourteen times a day only to have it only stay warm through two puppies. Thanks!!

| Do you have a regular sized crockpot? Maybe you could keep that full of water on low? Then it would be ready for you all the time. Just a thought. I love the picture! |

That's what I was saying. If you keep a mug of water on a candle warmer, it's ready all the time. Same thing with a miniature potpourri crock. This keeps very hot water at the ready, and bottles heat in mere seconds. Just make sure it always has water in it. Don't let it run dry. But at least once a day, right after feeding, empty it, washing it thoroughly, or you will breed bacteria. How are the pups doing?

| I think I will go to walmart and just get a small warmer. Its easier to wash than a huge crockpot. Besides, it will heat up faster, and not use as much energy. Havent seen the bottom of my kitchen sink in a few days, been in the back bedroom feeding pups, or on the comoputer trying to learn how to post pics, lol. Time to tackle the kitchen before someone comes to see pups again. hehe
