| I am so very sorry for your loss. Its hard losing that little loved one. But now you have five beautiful reminders of their momma. Keep at least one to help you heal. Good luck with the bottle feeding. I haven't had this happen yet with breeding yorkies, but I have had to hand raise many litters of kittens. The only advice I can give you, is find someone to help you out. And make sure you give each pup different time with you with like licking motions of being cleaned by mom's tongue all over their bodies. It helps forms a connection (at least it did with all the kitten litters). Good luck to you and you and the pups are in our prayers.

| Thank you so much to everyone who has responded on this thread. Your warm thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated. Losing Sadie is hard but I don't think it has fully set in yet as I have been so busy taking care of the puppies. But we will get through this. I owe it to her. She wasn't really acting sick until Tuesday, when I insisted they move up her appointment. She ate well after having the pups and only stopped Tuesday, the day she died. They had me check her gums Monday when I first voiced an uneasy feeling. They were pink. They did not fade out til Tuesday. It all just went so fast, it was not an ordinary infection. The vet said it went toxic very quickly. I am sure I will blame myself enough, even still. I just never should have bred her as I was not really willing to go through this risk. Never again.

| BANNED! | I am so very sorry for your loss. Perhaps there might be someone who has a nursing mom to help you with thses little ones. I know bottle feeding is going to be very exhausting with 5 so plz get some rest when possible and I wish you well. |

| This is such a bad situation. I feel badly for you, Sadie and the pups. Thankfully, I've never been in your exact situation but have had to hand feed some pups that were too small and weak to nurse. It's an around-the-clock job that will test you. It can be done but you really need some help, especially the first couple of weeks until the pups are stronger and don't need to be fed quite so often. It sounds like you have a good handle on what needs to be done but it really is quite a feat to do it. With you being in FL you may not have such a problem with keeping the pups warm yet hydrated, which is very important. You may still want to be prepared to sub-q the babies with fluids if necessary. Check them often for proper hydration. I used an eye-dropper to hand feed mine, which worked really well. I really wish you the best as you have your hands full now. Do you have someone that can assist you? The most likely problem you'll have is that you'll be just too tired and miss a feeding. That will be disastrous for the pups as they go downhill so very fast at this stage. Again, my best to you all at this terribly difficult time. |
