| I didn't word that correctly, I meant to ask how long do you leave the clamp on before you start twisting as in how many minutes must it be in place before you take off the tail (with clamp still intack) or is it right away?

| You can wait a couple seconds...when the tails comes off, the clamp will stay on the pinched end..then leave it a few minutes..if there is ever blood once you take it off..put it back..but that rarely happens. |

| Okay I understand now! Thanks you so much for helping me and for the explanation. When/If I breed, both dew claws being removed and tails will be docked by our Vet for the first few times, but I'm glad I now know this method so i can relay it to my Vet! Are there any other 'special' techniques you use during whelping and after?

| Yes..I use several "techniques" during whelping from time to time. Hand wringing, pacing, banging my head on the wall, cheesecake is a wonderful distraction for me..and the ever famous words...Never again!!! LOL |
