She was very nice, I also sent her the Picture of her very sick puppy I bought. Since then we email eachother and became email friends. She is really not a bad person. taking care of that many dogs is alot of work and thier income. when I read "she seems so nice" about puppy miller, I just cannot understand... are some people really that stupid? :thumbdown   WHO cares how nice she scams people? who cares how "sweet" she is when she abusing her dogs? I can understand feeling of people who buy their pup from visible bad condition (it is absolutely wrong, of course, but at least, it is understandable when they try to "save" poor pup), but tell "she so nice" blah blah blah... and avoid the REAL facts.... Can someone explain me this?! :D it is out of my understanding!!!! sorry for being sarcastic.... i just cannot handle so stupid comments. |
I purchased one of my pups from Gloria. When my yorkie arrived she had a cough which turned out to be kennel cough. I immediately called Gloria and she informed me that it was due to the flight. Also my yorkie started looking more and more like a silky. She is 16 months old and weighs 11 pounds. She is also all blonde. Gloria is a very nice person although I wont ever buy from her again. |

I have since found that out but she still insist that my baby is a purebred yorkie. She looks nothing like my male yorkie and she is huge. I know she is a silky because I have seen photos of silkies but neverless I love my baby and I wouldnt trade her for anything in this world |
You know that puppies living in sheds really have a huge effect on them. I purschased what I thought was a yorkie but turned out to be a silky from the Stills. I also have a purebred yorkie purchased from another breeder who looks totaly different. The puppy that came from Still kennel is out of control to this day. She is know16 months and when I open my front door she takes off run ning and we have to catch her. I cannot take her to the park un leashed. When she is on the leash she walks me instead of me walking her. She is in obiedence school and her trainer has been working with her for 6 months already. I love her so much and I will do what I need to do for my dog but I think it's all because of her conditions while she was with the Stills |
We have been fortunate so far with our little one. (I credit that to lots of prayer and God;)) The place is horrible horrible. I have reported them to every agency I can think of. I reported to the Humane Society last week and am hoping and praying they will do something. :doghouse::Pawprint:Charlene:Pawprint:Mama to Laddy:Pawprint::doghouse: |
Still Kennels They have over 100 dogs. Yes, she says she loves them and she may in her own mind, however, there is no way on earth she and her husband can take care of them properly. I have 12 dogs...most from rescued situations, and they are a lot of work. I love them and they deserve the very best and they get it but I can't imagine over 100 dogs. My dogs live in the house. I have a large fenced in back yard and they are walked. They get good food as well as food that we cook for them. They run on grass, are warm when it is cold out and cool when it is warm out. They see a vet regularly and I am well known there. They are part of our family. I have a shed in my back yard for my feral cats. I have it insulated for them . It gets hot in there but works for the cats to keep them out of the elements when they need shelter. Sheds are dark and not meant to house living creatures on a daily basis. I worked for 14 years in a jail and murderers were treated better than the poor animals housed in the sheds. There is no way they can be handled daily or at all other than to take their pictures for online sales. Yes, look at the eyes of the dogs...especially the older ones. That tells it all . It is fright that you see. |
I bought a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel from Still Kennel. She arrived and looked good. I took her to the vet and they found she was full of parasites. We did get her cleared up. That has been a year and a half ago. Although she is supposed to be registered full blood, she is much bigger than she should be. She is a continual barker. No self control and I suspect that she is not mentally all that she should be. My other cavaler in brilliant but this one does not respond to training. Not at all like my other cavalier. |
Still Kennels Your poor dog probably has suffered trauma with the Stills. Be patient with her. She deserves understanding and maybe a good dog trainer. My cockapoo that I got from our humane society at around 8 months of age was a mess. You could tell he had been kept in a cellar for he would try to get down our's and when he did, would go to the bathroom there. If you would go to pat his head he would show his teeth...obviously hit. After 3 basic sessions (6 classes each), 3 advanced sessions and one agility he is doing wonderful. When he goes down cellar it is just to be with me. If I pat him, he licks. Some take longer but it is worth it in the end. I have other rescued dogs and with patience, love and time they eventually become great members of the family. Good luck with your's. |
Still Kennels I have purchased 2 puppies from Gloria Still of Still Kennels beginning in 2005. I purchased my second puppy in 2009 and just reserved a puppy today. Needless to say I am surprised to see such negative comments about Gloria and her kennel. I have found her to be a kind, caring and informative woman who is interested in her breeds and where they are going. I have called her from time to time over the years with questions or just to say hello and she is always responsive and kind. None of the puppies I purchased were sick, in fact I always made it a habit to have my "new" dogs checked by the vet when they first arrive and they have all received a clean bill of health. As for disposition, my dogs were trained while puppies and were always happy, under control and alert. Never a problem as I have read in some of the posts. My dogs travel with me overseas in the cockpit and have always been well behaved, to the point where they can go leashless inside the terminals. I am of the opinion that it is so easy to complain and/or disparage someone over the internet, especially under the cover of another name, that a number of these posts are more of the malicious bent than from personal experience. Gloria Still is ok in my book and has been an excellent provider of puppies to me, pets that my family and friends have enjoyed greatly. I just reserved a puppy today from Gloria. Contact me if you have any questions. Paul Lancia Providence, Rhode Island Turku, Finland |
It's always interesting (and highly suspicious) to see a new member join and immediately, with their first post, jump in a thread (usually old) to either offer loads of praise or strong dislike for a breeder being discussed. Bonus points to those who lash out and criticize long time YT members in the process. ;) Often these new members post once or twice and never come back. And even more frequently, their posts are never taken seriously nor are they viewed as reliable. |
Wow- so, knowing that she keeps her dogs in teeny, tiny cages, without socialization and that many have gone to their new homes sick with parasites and other problems, you'll still buy from her because she's "nice". Sorry, but that makes no sense to me. |
Anytime I hear a puppy that came from this place is healthy I am thrilled for the puppy and the owner but since you are not even from our state how can you possibly know what this place is like? I have been there I KNOW what it is!!! My little guy so far is healthy but he is a very hyper little man who when in a room where the door is shut will jump and scratch at the door until someone opens it be it an hour or 4 If my husband leaves for work he will spend 30 minutes running from room to room whining. We give him all the love it is possible to give him and he is a joy to us but like I said we feel prayers are responsible for this since he was so closely inbred and came from such a place. Don't you think maybe your should pay a visit to where your little ones came from before you start saying the rest of us are lying about the place? Ok I am through venting I for one feel incredible sorry for all Laddy's fellow puppies there. |

Well I'll say this, I think most of you find it easy to sit behind your pseudonyms and preach. I found it odd that when I was looking for the email address of Still Kennels that there were entries of folks complaining that they were a puppy mill breeding and selling sick puppies and felt it necessary to make certain that my experiences wit the Still Kennel was known. Obviously you are not the type of people that like to contradicted and challenged. So you disparge while sitting obscured by your pseudonym, your location hidden and no one knows your name. Nice. I don't play like that. I think that maybe you are biased for some reason or if not, then please send me the compelling evidence you have that definitively proves that the kennel has problems, is not up to par, neglects it's puppies. Step up or shut up. I'm here to stay and I will challenge you to make good on your statements. By the way, feel free to contact me directly. I am not hiding like you! |

Really surprised at all of this. Question to you --- If your puppy is or was so problematic and you identified these problems as attributed to neglegent breeding or care from the kennel and have observed such conditions at the kennel, why would you not file a report with the proper authorities about this? To complain on line and not follow through in real time adversely effects your credibilty. I have a saying: ~ What you don't see with your eyes, don't witness with your mouth ~ If you have then speak up, if you have not, then shut up! |
I just read all the posts on this thread. Maybe you all need to get a life or something close to that. If Gloria is the terrible person you make her out to be, why are you wasting your time posting on this site? Why wouldn't you be notifying the authorities about the way she breeds her dogs and runs her business? Gossip an innuendo are a dangerous form of communication. While much easily disseminated via the internet with our firewalls and the buffers we construct to mask our identity and where we live, I see that the swift, repeated posts from the usual are overwhelming. One posted opinion from a qualified observation far outweights the hysterical and numerous postings of a more frequent and outspoken visitor. Who's to say who's right? In this case when making substantial allegations against someone specific and their business, I am of the opinion that one needs to be detailed, with facts, dates, instances of personal observations not based on second hand information. From what I've read in this thread, I have not come across any substantiated instances that would be definitive or pass a test in a court of law that this kennel or these people are anything like described herein. Now post away --- but I challenge you. Post factual and from personal knowledge. Refer us to published fact, not urban legend or something you heard at the truck stop. Do this with integrity, not without impunity. Be honest, forthright and speak from experience. Personal experience, not what you heard from someone who heard from someone who heard ....................and so on. |

Unfortunately it can take years of complaints and multiple inspection failures before anything ever seems to be done. Sometimes a good news report does more to sway these "authorities" into shutting the horrors down. This thread looks like it has plenty of first hand information from those who have seen the place, have had to deal with the traumatized puppies, and tried valiantly to report to authorities. But thank you -- it is good that you are bringing the thread up to the top of the reading again. I like to see these ongoing battles stay in the limelight so people can BEWARE. |

Yep. Every reply to this thread brings it back up to the top of the "new posts" thread list, so more people are going to become aware of it and see these first-hand bad experiences. It will make this thread easier to find in a Google search, too, so if anyone that is thinking of purchasing from this kennel searches to see if they can find any info, they will have no problem finding and reading this. |

You are doing the exact same thing you are accusing others of--judging people without any first hand experience of their character. Congrats! Now you are just like everyone else here that you have so diligently berated. |

Like you, I just read through the posts too. If there wasn't enough red flags in this situation (i can't say breeder, for obvious reasons) then, why you just cleared it with the remainder red flags. Is this what you call a letter of recommendation? Letter of support? Do you know what a breeder is? Reputable breeders don't have new folks doing this. We love yorshire terriers. They mean something different to us than people like you. Actors that lead people to buying sick dogs. :thumbdown |

Those rock bottom prices are comparable to my local Walmart! Wow what a deal with Yorkies that are selling rock bottom prices between $200-$400! The sparkle in their eyes just shows their health! I just loved the pictures of the dog houses on the home page of their site. They look luxuries and a fine place to keep all of the Cavalies, Frenchies, s**tzuies, Chihuahua and of course Yorkies! Let me see if I can get all their names correct :) We have Manly (who is the only Chi ), Pierre, Princess and Pat the French Bulldogs, Denise and Jackie the Shiztzus, Mary, Faith, Foxy and Robinanne, and of course the Yorkies Puncan, Megan (I have a daughter by the name ;)), Jasmanie, Mac and Funny. Funny sure looks pretty sad in her/his picture but maybe he just is a little camera shy;)~then we have more doggies up at the top of the picture who are not listed. Hmmm, maybe they are the lucky ones that live in the doggy houses on the home page. Tinky, Angie, April............wonder who else could be hiding  In the happy homes looks like there is a German Shepard, Poms and a couple that I am not sure what the breed is by the picture. Boy are they all cute. Oh well~I'm sure you will be around YT for a very long time and I'm hoping you accept my friend request. :) You are so right when you say these YTers are just full of gossip and innuendos. That was a great site and I'm sure that you will not be the only one to come alone to tell use how wonderful they are and the quality pets they breed. |
