Maxine has a big fenced in yard really two parts are fenced in . one is where she lets her dogs out at and the other is her yard, its really hard to explain. but its very nice. she has a really nice setup for them. Maxine is not some lady just out to make money off her Yorkies. She has money.

She did tell us that she was her daughter's dog, but she originally came from her breeding program and then she gave her to her daughter and then she took her back when her daughter became seriously ill. She had Camden for almost a year though and she is the one who bred her and was responsible for her care.

The male you are talking about is Maxines Ch stud. I have talked about him on here not long ago and talked about getting a female from her. this males pup. But I changed my mind. just wasnt the right time for us.
Yes Maxine does sell her pups unaltered. and im very saddened by that. there are members on here that also have pups from her and from this male being the dad.
Maxine is a very nice lady. with a beautiful home. her dogs are feed well. but I dont believe she keeps them in her house. all her dogs are Ch and or great quality Yorkies. you wont ever see one of her pups thats not the standard.
I dont know her reasons for not unaltered her pups before rehoming them. and she does sell her pups cheaper then any AKC Yorkie breeder that ive meet, and I have talked to her about her prices and about screening people for these pups and about alterering them before they leave her home. She does not have internet and even though she knows the breeed well she would do better by knowing whats going on in the breeders world today.
I did help rehome many of her dogs, she was getting out of breeding and I posted on here and a rescue did pick those Yorkies up and vet cared them and rehomed them. I do know alot of them was shaved down, but other then that they were in good health. as of late I have heard she did not retire from breeding and is still breeding the ones she kept.just down graded. She is friends with the pre owners of this male. I do not think she knows that anyone has mixed her Yorkies or breed them to mixes. Im sure she wont be to happy about that. I plan to call her today and ask her to please only sell them after they have been fixed. I know she could do alot better by having them fixed and raising her prices to help pay to have that done. so im going to talk to her about it again. But al her Yorkies are of great pedigree.and all are standard yorkies.[/QUOTE]

I want to know if she rehomed and let dogs go into rescue, why is she still breeding

I see that you are saying she is still breeding.
You know it doesn't matter how great her pedigrees are etc what she is doing is nothing but WRONG!
You don't breed and use a rescue to clean up your leftovers and unwanted dogs.
That is just horrible that she did this!!!

I have just read through this entire thread and am shocked at what I have just read! Back in August 08 there was a huge uproar about this Maxine giving up breeding, turning her dogs over to a rescue and retiring.

I was pulled into this mess and actually called Maxine to offer help. She sounded totally reasonable on the phone and I was truly interested in taking one of her dogs as part of my family. I would have had him vetted, neutered, groomer and whatever else he would have needed. I even offered the name and number of a rescue in her area as a back up to the original rescue. I spoke to both and they agreed to help each other rehome these yorkies. From what I remember from the posts (but you can read it yourself to try to figure it out) was that all these dogs were not vetted and she was going to give them to whomever wanted them UNALTERED. At one point she took a few to the vet and one died from being vaccinated. There was a lot of drama~mostly unnecassary.
They were offered for free in this condition. I'm not surprised that something like this has happened. Can anyone answer two questions for me?

1. Is the dog that is being used or will be used by this other breed from the FREE yorkies that were given away back in August?

2. After giving all of her breeder dogs away and saying she was giving up breeding is she still breeding yorkies? *The one thing that stick in my mind is that she still had one litter that she was keeping...

Yes, her whole breeding program is just a mess.

I didn't realize the poor Viza had pups before one year. She should never have pups ever. Her size is so scary to be bred.
I cleared my PM box out again

Hi All I see this thread is moving right along. I cant answer all the questions only a few on what I know. We are talking about two different breeders here in this thread, so Im sure alot of people are getting confused.
Yes I did try and help Maxine rehome her breeding dogs, Yes she told me she was getting to old to breed. I agreed to help her find home for some of her retired dogs. some were older and some were not able to breed. some having on litter that didnt live, so they were not breed again. Maxine was seling these Yorkies cheap Only wanting good homes for them, she then decided to only charge enough to have these Yorkies alterd instead of taking the money they would use the money for this to be done. I had found many people wanteing these Yorkies. But Like I told Maxine I do NOT know these people and how they live and or care for their pets. She wanted people that I knew. She did decide to let them go to rescue because they agreed to have them altered and screen for good homes. and thats what they did. I was so relieved these dogs found their forever loving homes.
What this breeder does is really none of our business..... I have talked to her many times about letting her Yorkies go so cheap. and letting them go with breeding rights. She had sold the other breeder 2 dogs but did not know she was useing them to make mix breeds or that she breed a feamle before a year old as some one had said. Theres nothing she can do about it now.
Yes she is still breeding. she had kept a few of her dogs. and has down sized. This Ch Gold Dust is her stud. Im sure if any of you breeders want to talk to her she would be willing to talk to you. She has put many years into breeding Yorkies and has got some great Dogs. and its sad that someone to all her hard work on makeing Her Yorkies what they are today to make mix's.

Thats really all I know. that and I got my Yorkie a male from her 4 1/2 years ago. and many of my friends have gotton pups from her.

Sorry but I had talked her into letting the rescue take them in, I think that was way better then letting them go by an ad in the paper or by letting them go to homes with people you really dont know, anyone can say anything, just because they seem ok, dont mean they are telling the truth. and I wanted these Yorkies to have the life they deserved.Many breeders sell their older breeding dogs. How could they keep them all? I would never give one of mine up , but many do. and I know that rescues screen people and they fit people with these Yorkies sometimes better then anyone else.

I agree. I had hope that when she turned over some dogs to rescue, that she was getting out of breeding totally, sadly that doesn't seem to be the case.
The original breeder being discussed on here shouldn't be doing what she's doing either! IMO

If you go by the pedigrees - Mary Carter has 4 of Maxine's dogs (2 males and 2 females)
Buckshot, Oscar, Viza and Lottie Da

Viza's single puppy went to place in PA which I believe is a puppymill.

Lottie Da is either 2 1/2 or 3 1/2 pounds (she states both sizes) and has recently had a litter of 4 puppies.
