Donating YT 4000 Club Member | My Son's Taffy's pregnacy saga continues.. PIXS Well my Oldest son's boss and owner of the Vet clinic our regular Vet.. is on vacation, he went hunting to croatia. A friend of him is taking care of the patients in the clinic, so my son took Taffy, my youngest son's dog to see her this morning. She examined Taffy and YES she is almost sure she is expecting..(DUH I told him that...  ) ok, but she thinks that the small incision in her belly is an old 'C-cession', that is why everyone thought that she was spayed... the shelter and our regular Vet... DUH, nobody thought about that, including my son.. ok, he has an excuse he still a student, but GEZZ... ok now we know...LOL she will have the pups aprox the 16 to the 20th of january a bit early or a bit later since we don't know exactly when 'IT' happend..and if she needs another C, we will find out when they do the x rays, closer to her due date... hugs, CArmen in nj pictures were taken this morning..Taffy today 12/18 |

| She looks awfully big for having almost 4 more weeks to go, are you sure about when she was bred? I have never had a bitch look quite that pregnant at only 4.5 weeks... |

| Thanks for the explanation about the confusion of her being spayed. Females that are carrying big litters can start showing a lot early on. You can start resting you hand on the side of her abdomen, just below her rib cage and feel for movement. Usually once you start feeling light movement they should have pups in 7 to 10 days. Take note of how she is carrying her pups and usually several days before delivery the pups will drop lower. This might give you some idea when the time is getting near. Thanks for keeping us updated. Hugs. |

| Just a tip about whelping. If you go to Wal-mart and buy a package of the disposable bed pads you will find that clean up will be so much easier. They are very absorbent and you can just put down clean ones as the puppies are being delivered. I usually wait until the delivery is about to begin before putting them under the female because the momma will have a tendency to tear them up when they start digging a lot prior to having puppies. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | oh, THANK YOU!! I can use all the tips you can offer, this is my first time helping a doggy.. I talked to my oldest son and his fiance and they will come as soon as I call them. I have to admit that I am getting a bit nervous...LOL but the dr. also told my son that she is an experience mom and we don't know if she was bred after the c or not, so we will take it one step at a time. Please keep those tips coming .. hugs, cArmen in nj |
