| ![]() Actually I'm a yorkie owner....3 to be exact...and I purchased my youngest from Hornings. No problems, whatsoever. Cute as a button! I live about 20 minutes away from Hornings and would definitely say they are a puppy farm but I wouldn't go as far as saying they are a puppy mill. No, I am not affiliated with these people - they're amish - I'm definitely not. You can see pictures of my Daisy on Myspace. Look up "ShikMegan". I was actually just out yesterday looking at some other breeds I might be interested in. The family is very nice and accomodating. I talked with the woman for over an hour seeking advice on breeding in the future. Any questions, feel free to ask. Im more than happy to help if I can. Shikmegan@aol.com |

| ![]() Absolutely. And I wouldn't say that I am an advocate on their behalf but since I have been there and worked with them I can say their puppies as well as their breeders are well taken care of. Again, it is an amish family which mean many people to assist with their care and I have witnessed this as well. Of course, I prefer private breeders but for what this facility does - not always my #1 choice - but I have had good experiences with them. |

| ![]() Ironically, the only positive feedback that has been given for this "breeding facility" has been from new members who's ONLY post have been to praise this place...hmmm...wonder why that it... ![]() Quote:

| ![]() Some people must do a search for the name of their "facility" and then pop in to post a quick recommendation. Three ![]() They can call it a farm, a mill, a barn, whatever name they want -- but I can't ever support an operation that sells puppies born to mothers who never get to know the joy of being in a HOME with a loving family, being played with every day, kept clean and fed quality foods, the wonderful feel of running through the yard, the freedom of getting out of a cage they are forced to stay in and breed, breed, breed...... I have seen enough footage of puppy mills to turn my stomach every which way this week. I just do not think anyone should be able to breed any more dogs than they can safely and sanitarily care for in their own home! There are a VERY few exceptions that raise their dogs in outside kennels, that actually get their dogs all outside each day, provide them with proper care and vet services, and just as important -- individual love and attention. But I bet the ones that fall into that category are a drop in the bucket of slime that abuse them.

| ![]() They also stated that the owners are Amish but in Pa The amish are the ones who run puppy mills. When I was doing rescue work in the tri state area I've been to many puppy mill Auctions and quess what they were all run by the amish. I've even seen it were one family breeds and other members of family who live on different farms brokers.

| ![]() Yeah I saw that commercial too! I was thinking the same thing then! I kinda figured that whoever owned the company wasn't amish and was exploiting them, but who knows. I wonder if many people buy those? |

| ![]() If this used to be Happy Apple Kennels... I was there. The people were not amish, that I am sure of. I did not buy my pup from there and honestly, couldn't get out of there fast enough. ![]() |
