Okay, so I just weighed them and they are exactly 2 weeks old today. I'm not as upset. Here is their weights:

8.4- girl
12.1-boy
14.7-boy
14.7-boy
15.5-boy
17.2-boy,my monster puppy

Everyone's weight charts only go up to 6lbs full grown, but I found one that I have been using as a back up the last few litters and found it to be more accurate with my puppies and it goes up to 7 lbs and they say that a puppy that weighs 16oz on week 2 should weigh 7 lbs as an adult.

So with that said I will only have one teapot That is if they stay on schedule.

Oh I feel so much better. And I guess you would also have to add that my Lilly carries her pups until day 65, which would make them bigger then a bitch that gives birth on day 59-60!

Feeling so much more less stressed!

They are so cute My puppies will be 3 weeks old Sunday. I weighed them today and my biggest is 19oz smallest is 16oz. We'll see what happens I guess. The mom is 7lbs and the dad is 3.5lbs. I heard they took after their dad, is this true? I'm not really worried about their weight right now like someone I believe previously posted they are pretty much just eating and sleeping so with no exercise, what happens? We gain weight.

19 oz is not terrible for a 3 week old he/she will be around the 7 lbs mark, Perfect! and the 16 oz baby according to the weight charts would be 5.5lbs.

I never heard anyone say that the puppies take after their dads??? I have not found that to be true, I would guess in my litters 1/2 look like mom and half look like dad. In weight and color.

How lucky are you to have 4 baby girls, I would have had them all sold by now, everyone wants girls down here.

I love my teacups and my teapot!! I have a 4lb, 2lbs and 9lbs babies. They are the best... Everyone loves my 9lb and wants him... my smallest is unbelievable to others and very heathy potty trained and smarter than the bigger dogs...

I'm sorry for my ignorance on this next question.......... What is the difference between a Teapot and a Teacup? After reading through this thread, I am confused (I have 2 boys and 1 girl that will be ready around Christmas)

at 4 weeks (today) they currently weigh:

Girl (Jinny) 17.5 oz
Boy 1 (Aaron) 19.6 oz
Boy 2 (Jacob) 26.4 oz


At 2 weeks they weighed:

Girl (Jinny) 10.6 oz
Boy 1 (Aaron) 11.2 oz
Boy 2 (Jacob) 19.5 oz

In the last week, they have not increased their weight but by just a little because they have been very, very active since they have started walking and two already have their back teeth coming in.

Depending on different web sites you go to, they never list Teapots, only Teacups. So I always thought that they just called them Teapots in different parts of the country or something like that. But after reading through this thread, I'm assuming it has to do with weight? Could you explain this to me? Thanks so much!

The funny people here on YT call their "larger Yorkies" teapots - just in fun! There is technically no such thing as a teacup Yorkie. As a joke, they started referring to the larger ones as "teapots"..... get it? teacup, teapot?? I can see how you would be confused though. Oh okay! Now that makes sense...... I thought you were being serious! Some people really do believe there are teacups no matter how much you try to educate them (one in particular is a friend of mine who has a "teacup") She knows it's a "teacup" because the breeder told her it was a "teacup" (she has to be less than 1 and 1/2 pounds and just over a year old) and when I told her there is no such thing, she felt like the breeder lied to her and didn't sell her a teacup, and that's what she wanted to buy. So I had to explain the whole thing to her.

Can you imagine if I had gone on here and posted the whole "there's no teacup" spill to you? I wouldn't do that to anyone though. Like my friend, she wants to believe she has a "teacup." But actually, wouldn't hers be a "mini" or a "micro-mini?"



Ok, seriously now, since this is my first litter, can you look at my weights and help me figure out if they are going to be teacups, teapots or standard?

I have a weight chart but it stops at 5 pounds.

My pup Oliver is bigger than a teapot, I think. Call him a "stockpot" yorkie. The vet says he will probably grow to about 15-16 pounds.
