| Hard delivery, but their here! Breach babies -anyone? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brooke finally had her babies. I charted between the 11th-15th day of this month. One girl and 2 boys. Both boys were breach and very difficult. Almost thought we many have to have a c-section. All are doing great. Ok I think I am going to take a nap soon. That was a long delivery yesterday Brooke is only 5lbs and I think she wants to really hurt my male LOL! Poor baby! I think she will cheer up after I give her some whelping pudding Anyone had any really hard breach deliveries? If so what did you end up having to do to assist. I am wondering if I could have done anything different. They are healthy, but it was difficult for two of them to come out. The 2nd born one came right out just fine-so her birthing canal is fine. It was just the two breach positions.

| Congratulations on your new litter. I pray momma and babies do well. I have breached puppies pretty regularly. They do take a little extra pushing and sometimes I have to help pull a little but I have never had one stuck that I could not get out. But then, most of my girls are 6 to 8 lbs. |

| Years ago I bred our lab, and her first pup was breech, which is fairly normal. Only thing was, she was a panicked wreck and kept insisting she had to go outside to poop, when I knew she was just getting ready to have her first pup. Since she was nearly the size of me, there wasn't much holding her back from scratching at the slider door to go out. So I followed her all around the yard while she found a place to "go", and she squatted and delivered the baby. It was stuck half way out, and when it finally came out, it's tummy was stuck to her bottom because the cord was either too short or stuck on something. Since she was frantic at that point, and very confused because she was still convinced she had to have a bm instead of a puppy, I yelled for dh to grab the scissors and some thread (which he couldn't find so he cut me some fishing line), and I clipped the cord and since it had to be cut soooo short, I tied it off with the line. We made do. After that I coaxed her into the house and she finished off the litter just fine and everyone was healthy.

| Please Help.. So sorry to bust in on your thread ....but I cannot figure out how to create my own & I need some help...Congrats on your litter !!!! My Piper is a 2.3 yr old yorkie 62 days into her 1st litter. I just got a temp from her of 99.2 this am it was 99.6. Yesturday I noticed the whelping gel , not alot but enough & it was there again today . I would say for the last 36 hrs she has not really been eating , I just gave her an egg & she has kept that down so far . she vomited 1X today 2X's yest. There is no milk leaking but again this is her 1st litter . So I think that this is not uncommon. Xray was done day 57 and confirmed 2 pups but vet said there is a 10% chance of a 3rd. she is resting constantly , whlping box is ready heating pads are on . no nesting , digging just tired and clingy to me . what do you all think? stage 1 ? |

| Sorry, just saw this!! It does sound like the beginning of the 1st stage. Keep her close by and check on her frequently. I see Breny already answered the question about starting the new thread. Click on Breeder talk and in the top left hand side you will see the button that says New Thread. It is right under the link "User CP". Good luck with your babies I noticed you said you had heating pads in your whelping box, just make sure there is enough space for the bitch to move away from them if necessary.
