| Yorkie is 1 week pregnant Hello everyone. I have a 2 year old Yorkie that tied with my male Yorkie on October 26, 2008. This is my first litter and wanted to know what to expect. Any advice would be helpful. Please don't send me any rude messages because I become quite defensive. We all have to start somewhere and no one was born an expert breeder. With that in mind please tell me what I should be feeding, watching and experiencing with my Yorkie. |

| First off, welcome to YT! I see you are on the defensive already about this subject, so you surely must be aware of that what you have posted is likely to upset people and why. Please be prepared for the answers you will get when you ask questions. Good luck with your future endevours to both you and your female. |

| We all have to start somewhere, boy we hear that one alot! You start by studying, by finding a mentor, and having the dogs that you want to breed evaluated for comformation, health, and temperment. Most folks don't want to bother with that step so they breed and than ask. My best advise to you is to run and go back to step one. Other than that I would highly recommend Canine Reproduction and Whelping by Myra Savant Harris.

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Here ya go! Canine Reproduction Video and Book on Breeding and Whelping dogs by Debbie Jensen for dog breeders and Whelping Supplies needed to deliver puppies. One of the most helpful websites I found when I had my first litter last year. My advice to you is to go this website and read, read, read. Then google yorkie whelping, dog whelping, and/or whelping in general. Pull up whatever links you find and read, read, read, some more! Another website I like is Dog Breed Info. Check that one out also. Good luck with your upcoming litter, and welcome to YT!

| I'm sorry you feel picked on but I would offer anyone the same advise. You need to know what to expect throughtout the pregnancy, the whelping, the nursing, the weaning, and the socialization BEFORE you breed.

| You have received a book and a website of tips for how to proceed. I also recommend you use the "search" feature here on YT to further research expectations. Thank You~ |
