| 65 Days...Temp dropped...puppies watch! I am starting a new thread and hopefully I can get a little more help from all experienced Mom and Dad. Is 65 days today for Candy and her temp finally dropped and stayed low all day today. Date Day Temp 22-Oct 62 100.30 23-Oct 63 100.30 24-Oct 64 100.30 25-Oct 65 98.30 8 am 25-Oct 65 98.40 12 noon 25-Oct 65 98.10 5 pm I will have to watch her closely tonight and hopefully I can get some help tonight if I need to. Quick question for now, can someone tell me how do you transport your puppies and mom to the vet after birth? What do I need to pay attention to? Thank you all very much in advance!

YT 1000 Club Member | I hope all goes well with your whelping. i transported Maggie and her pups in a carrier. I took a fleece blanket of hers and laid it over a towel I had in the dryer for a bit to get it warm. Also I made the blanket cover the netting on all but one side so they stayed warm.

| Do not suppliment. Mom produces colostrum at first, it is essential to the pups protection against illness. Try to help them latch on if they need it. After 12 hours if they haven't nursed and look like they may getting dehydrated than you can give them a few drops of sugar water by dropper. If you have some nutridrops they can help as well. Congrats on your new pups.

| Thank you very much, she is a really good mom, she hug them to keep them warm. Can you tell me what is a normal wt for new born puppies? Two girls, 2.5 oz and 4.5 oz, is 2.5 too small? She is active but I am a little worry

| 2.5 oz. is small expecially since the sibling is 4.5 oz. Just keep a close eye on her and weigh her regularly in grams to make sure that she isn't loosing any weight.

| I don't see many post with help here, but if anyone can give me answer of the following, I would certainly apprecate that. How often should nursing be? Will the puppies be able to find the teats? When can the mom take a bath? How much weight should the puppies gain to consider normal? Thank you for now! Jen

| I am very happy that the little pup 1 is doing very well, I wt. her at 3:15pm today and she dropped 2 oz, but she gained it back at 9:00pm. Pup 2 is doing well too, she gained 2 oz from birth to 9:00pm. Mother is doing well, her temp is 101.8, I will take them all to the vet Tuesday morning. Jen
