| Thanks, I think they're precious too, but I'm biased . Bonnie's usual weight is just a bit over 5 pounds. Funny thing is, she was bigger with her last litter and she only had 3 with that one (different sires though). Everything's fine so far. I've given all the pups a little bit of Nutri-Drops and Bonnie ate some yogurt. |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | WOW! That was some GRAND finale.....6 puppies I've never had puppies that small (only had one litter so far) and hearing those tiny weights under 3oz makes me nervous; though I understand that as long as they are healthy and nursing they should do fine. Hope they are all doing well this morning...hope you got SOME rest. Bonnie is beautiful, as is her new big family! Congratulations!

| A great big congratulations to you and Bonnie. 6 beautiful babies. Even Bonnie looks surprised in the last picture. "Now What" she seems to be thinking. Best wishes to all of you, |

| Things are going well today. Bonnie has stayed with her babies constantly since last night. She has a good appetite and is eating well. I made some whelping pudding to help her along; she loves it. Only two of the babies have shown a weight gain but the others are not dropping off. I'm giving them all Nutri-drops and have supplemented a couple of the tiny ones. These are the smallest babies I've ever had. Anything under about 3.5 ounces kinda scares me a little and, with this litter, there's 4 of them under that weight with 3 of those being under 3 ounces. All in all, I'm very happy but a little nervous, too. Once the little ones start to pick up I'll relax a bit. I think Bonnie was as surprised as I was when they kept coming...and coming...and coming . I'll try to get some better pictures of the pups when I take Bonnie out for a break later. |

| Update on Bonnie & pups It's been a trying last few days. Bonnie had her pups 3 days earlier than expected. They seemed fully formed but a bit premature. Some had less hair than they should have had and 4 of them were tiny. Also, Bonnie's milk was late in coming in. They were born Wed. night and by Thursday morning I started supplementing. Bonnie had some milk but not nearly enough and the pups had all dropped a little weight. This was the first time I ever had to supplement and I had 6 pups to deal with. By Friday evening, her milk had come in better and the 2 bigger ones were able to get enough milk. They've been feeding on their own since then but I'm still feeding the 4 smaller ones. They're not showing much weight gain yet but are more vigorous so I feel we've turned the corner on them. They're all strong enough now to latch on and are getting some of Mom's milk so I've been able to back off the frequency of the feedings a little. Bonnie is eating well but is very picky about what she eats. She'll only eat canned food, some meat and her whelping pudding. She was picky the whole last month of her pregnancy and I had a hard time getting enough food in her. I've scheduled an appointment for tomorrow to get the pups tails and dew claws done. I usually get it done on day 3 but waited this time for the pups to get stronger. Hopefully, we're over the hump with these babies. They're so tiny and helpless but, by the grace of God, they're hanging in there. I haven't relaxed about it all yet but now feel they may all make it. For a while, I wasn't so sure but every day (actually every hour) that passes makes me feel a little better about them. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes well with the tail docking tomorrow. |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Prayers for you, Bonnie, and her little ones. I'm glad to hear that they are all hanging in there and things look hopeful. I would assume your vet will let you know if the little ones are big/strong enough for tail docking. Am very anxious to see some pictures, but you do that when you feel the time is right. Congrats again on the litter and for all the hard work you are doing to keep them going!

| Thanks, Rose, for the good wishes. I trust my vet's judgement and if there's any that he thinks are too frail for the docking, then so be it. My gut feeling is they all can have it done. They seem to be, at 4 days old, about typical for 2 or 3 day old pups. This has sure worn me out the last couple days. Not only the feedings, but Bonnie has loose bowels and has messed herself a few times. Talk about gross!! There's been two times where I had her in the sink, giving her a 'booty bath', and she went again as I was rinsing her. It's a real mess with her coat. I made her a new batch of whelping pudding and added in some canned pumpkin. Her stools seem to be firming up so maybe I'm past that now. If it ain't one thing, it's another... Jim |

| Wow...a surprise ....another girl..Congrats~!!!! Sounds like you've had a busy couple days. I hope they have turned the corner and all will be nursing on their own and gaining weight soon. Let us know how the tail docking goes
