| What do you do when The girl puts up a fight. Not biting, but refusing to stand still and having a fit when he starts to penetrate, even when I am assisting. she is a virgin girl. he is experienced. Will she be better the next time? |

| Pixie did that too her first time. Even though it was her second heat, the breeder said she was probably just too young still. She didn't end up getting preggo. I took her in this week, and she did perfectly. She stood still, no growling, or nipping. she even danced in front of the male a little, she kept on sticking her butt in his face

| Are you sure she doesn't have a vaginal stricture? This would cause a similar reaction. |

| What day of her heat cycle is it? She might not be quite ready yet. I recently had a female acting that way and I had to hold her firmly and after much trying I was able to get one tie on her 11th day but all the attempts on the following days were unsuccessful. She is definitely pregant and is due to have pups in about 2 1/2 weeks. Some females for whatever reason are scared of the males and are not interested in breeding just like some males are not interested in breeding. It is not always easy breeding dogs. |

| Thanks for the replies. We did get a tie, and once tied, she settled down. She did not cry like she was being hurt and she never tried to bite, she would just freak out when he hit the target. I'm not exactly what day she is on but it has been at least 10 since he started to show interest. There never was any visible bleeding, but she definitely looks ready. Vulva is enlarged and tilted back. I'm going to try again tomorrow and hopefully she won't freak out next time. I feel like such a PIMP |

| I just bred one of my females for the first time and she acted the same way, I just had to hold her and give her a toy to chew on & she was the same the day after.
