| Ok...so I am taking it no one is familiar with them...so I will continue on with my story. On the way home from visiting my parents (Kentucky) we saw a huge flea market and decided to stop...there was an area that should have had flashing red lights saying..puppy mill pups this way...anyway right before you got to the open area of the puppy mill area there was a booth in the middle with two yorkies sitting in the makeshift window...I went in and here they are from Grayson's kennel. The man, who I am assuming is affiliated with them, along with a lady that was sitting on a sofa...started telling us that he has 6 ranging from 1 pound up to 6...now I didn't ask which one bred these two..for fear that he wouldn't say the 6 pounder...anyway...I told him it was rather interesting that a breeder would choose to sell their puppies (champion of course) at a flea market. They also had clothes and such but if you looked closer..some were kind of dingy with hair on them.....Nice!

| Graysons Kennels I am the man whom you spoke to at the Sweetwater Flea Market, Owner/Breeder of Graysons Kennels......Graysons Kennels has been around for 19 years now! We are an AKC only kennel being inspected annually, along with being the ONLY State of Tennessee Licensed Kennel in this entire area of Tennessee. Yes we have a retail store at the market, yes the Yorkshire Terriers on display were my personal pets, whom have not and will not breed. My kennel has never once in 19 years of inspections had a single fault finding, not one in 19 years. We have never sold to pet stores or wholesale, we also have NEVER, NEVER sold any of our pups with full registration, all our pups are sold on a spay/neut. contract. We also do not let any Yorkie go home before 12 weeks of age, ever... We are members of several breed clubs, support our state and local shelters, we do show our Yorkshire Terriers in AKC events. The Lady on the"sofa" is a personal friend of mine and has helped with our kennel for MANY years, she is a kind and gentle person who has given of her time and money to MANY Yorkshire Terriers and charitable events. You make it sound as if because she was sitting on a sofa that a crime was in action! As you stated our shop was away from all other puppys or as you stated "puppy mills" there is a reason we are far away from them because we are Graysons Kennels and we have a wonderful reputation. We keep our kennel and our store spotless. We only sell to individuals and we screen them well, more often than not, we refuse to sell our Graysons Yorkies to anyone whom we feel is not the right match for our little ones. So before you choose to BASH someone on here do your homework. That is why no one replied when you put out your negative statements. Buy the way we do agree with your statements about the market, that is why we no longer have a store there. We are only showing puppies at our office at the kennel. Have a great day, Steven Graysons Kennels Owner |

| TY, The post is only five months old, not a year! It was just brought to my attention by a client. We did check each client, first all pups were pre booked from time of pre-mating to 7 weeks clients fill out an application. At seven weeks clients were allowed to start visiting and bonding with their pups. Puppy and client spent bonding time from weeks 7 through 12-18 depending on when the little one was ready. We do NOT ever force wean any Graysons Yorkshire Terrier. And no pup ever leaves our care prior to 12 weeks period. At 12 weeks of age we have given worming meds at weeks 2,3,4,5,6,8,10, & 12. Fort Dodge vaccines are given at 4 weeks neo-par, 6,8,10,& 12 full vaccines. Each little one leaves our care with a 20X24 crate, stainless steel food and water bowl, collar, lead, stuffed toy, hard chew toy, baby chew keys, blanket, brush, food, water, care book, health records, vet check cert., and on a spay/neut contract that also states that we will take the little one back at any time during its lifetime without questions. We had a very nice very large area at the market at a cost of $1200 per month, the reason for this we had "strangers" in our home to often and it was uncomfortable at times. We have very recently added an office onto our home and have closed our market store. Yes, I was aware of the "look" of selling at a market may have. However, we were very careful in our sanitation prior to any contact with our pups, along with we did not hesitate to tell someone NO, period. At the time when we first went to the market we were one of there persons with nice area's at the market. By the time were left there were issues, major issues, with many of the "others" selling mixed breed, designer breeds, ckc breeds. We left due to these issues and only after I made every attempt with the help of a few local Vets, the State Officials, and local, state, and U.S. Human Society Officials, to no long term effects. Thats when we walked way so as we would not be termed puppy mill. We only breed AKC Yorkshire Terriers, and we only sell privately. I am very proud of our kennel, and the Yorkshire Terriers we provide to our client who VERY often become friends. I hope this will answer your questions or concerns. Take Care Steven |
