Hopefully the bitch is pg. But time will tell.I had her until the 14th day into her heat.

There has been some excellent info on this post. I would add that the girls "behind" should be clear of hair, preferably a sanitary cut. Also, sometimes the male has too much hair on his penis and it will get caught and hurt him causing him to withdraw in pain. The genitals on both dogs should be as free of hair as possible. Also, KY jelly will dry out so if the process is long, check to make sure it is still moist and reapply as needed.
Occasionally, the hymen will need to be manually broken. Only an experienced breeder should attempt this but you can use the vets help if you need to.

:thumbup: OOHHH The information I was looking for the outside tie. I just bred 2 of mine and had the outside tie I held him there as long as I could then I held my bitches butt in the air for another 5 minutes. The things we go through for our dogs Huh? OHHH I hope mine is pregnant.

can you tell me if the females are usually HORNY between heats?
lots of flirting.. but do they want sex when they are not able to get pregnant?

I would have never thought they would be, since I have always been told that people and dolphins are the only mammals that breed for pleasure, but my girlfriends dog is constantly flagging her male and standing for him even when she isnt in heat. He has not a clue what to do, but she is very persistant all the time. I mean, its been non stop since the beginning of the year.

do the girls train the boys?
does she just want to get pregnant? sadie just wrestles him down and pins him. on his back.

Thought I would come back and update you and thank you once again for your support and suggestions!
Unfortunately my little one is not pregnant. I took her in for an ultrasound at 33 days and nothing there. :(
The stud owner had a maiden go into heat this week and they had no problems whatsoever. I\'m at a loss as to what happened? Anyone have any suggestions? I\'m thinking I will take her to the vet for AI next time.....

The one I had a tie with is definately pregnant even though I kept second quessing myself. But the one with the outside I don\'t know yet. I will just have to keep checking.

I had puppies with the officail tie on October 17th 2 girls and 1 boy. Really really cute. the outside tie didn\'t take. So I will try to breed her again on the next heat. FYI......
