Puppy Watch Continues..... Yeah i don't think it looked like that. Im thinking it could have been some discharge that dried up. She cleaned it off. And i haven't seen much signs of labor. She is sleeping this morning. She was laying there earlier this morning and seemed as though she could not get comfortable so she laid on her side then a few minutes later she laid on her back. I took her temp at 5:30 am it was 99.7 i took it again at 8:48 am it was 99.7 right now she is sleeping and 5-10 minutes she will move around to another spot of the bed... as though she is uncomfortable. She still eats as she ate early this morning.... and she did take a treat about an hour ago. No other signs or movements other then that. Hopefully tonight she will have her puppies. If not tonight .... anytime after tomorrow afternoon.... i have to work in the morning and don't want to miss her having her puppies (someone will be with her when i go to work for a few hours) |

Puppy Watch Continues..... Quote:
When we had the ultrasound they definitely saw three. But They think they may have seen a fourth not sure if a puppy moved or not. But when we were listening to heartbeats recently we think we heard five. Just not sure if any were an echo. And We know moms is totally different then the five we heard. So... not 100% sure. Also an update on her i checked her temps as followed so far 05:30AM 99.7 08:44AM 99.7 10:34AM 99.5 11:30AM 99.1 I have not taken it again yet i am waiting to let her cool off as i had her outside for a little while. She is panting right now and its not tooo fast but its kinda fast...if that makes any sense. So i think its just from being outside and it being really hot here. But i have had her indoors the first time from being outside for about 20 minutes and she was panting like she is now. And now we came in again and its been about 15-20 minutes again and still panting. She was laying down a minute ago and then she got up and moved to a new spot on the bed and she then got up and moved again. Also, when i felt for her babies i believe i felt .... what i think is a head pointing down as if they were lining up. Still on Puppy watch! |

If her temp has been running in the high 99's to about 100 then I would expect her temp drop to be somewhere around 97-98.3. In my experience it is about a 2 degree drop from what they have been running. Taking her temp about 4 times a day should catch it. If you see a behavior change...refusal to eat...extremely sleepy...glassy eyed...then I take the temp even if off schedule. Just stay close, they have to come out eventually. |

Puppy Watch Continues..... 4 Attachment(s) :2hearts2: Okay so Peyton continues to go up and down and back up on her temp. She has not started nesting yet and she has a slight pant. I have not noticed the loss of a mucus plug. Today is day 61 since her first breeding. She does however needs to go to the restroom alot....well at least she thinks she does??? Not sure .... she is trained to ring a bell when she has to go potty and every 15-20 minutes today she has been ringing it and having to go out. She will pee and then spend a few more minutes smelling around and then she squats again as she is going to pee....but... nothing... does she think she has to go or is she just acting different? I took some newer pictures as i said i would and i am going to attach them below. She is wayyyy bigger then she was she seems as though she grew over night.... not sure..... also i took a picture of her "pollywog" :p to see if anyone can tell me if it looks as though she is ready. If you are laying there with her and you have your hand on her tummy you can feel the puppies moving a lot .... and it is low in her tummy where they are moving..... And her tummy also tightens up tight and becomes a little looser.....All comments and suggestions welcome. :2hearts2: |
I like to leave it to the breeders - they are usually completely accurate. My unexperienced bet? - tomorrow night -. Good luck. I will be sending some prayers your way for a healthy (and fun!) whelp. |

If she is squatting like she has to pee every few minutes I would say she is fixing to go in labor, it probably won't be much longer. Usually they do that allot right before labor.:) Also they will sometimes loose their mucas plug during one of those "squats" My female did that and about 8 hours later we had a baby! |

Thank you for asking about her. She is doing quite well. Today is actually her 2nd birthday!! She was spoiled with plenty of birthday treats!! She has completely returned to normal. She hears every noise and barks at it - as normal. She is such a good guard dog. I am so happy that she is back to her normal spunky self. Please keep us posted about the pups! |

In my exsperience my females alway's start squatting like they are peeing every few minutes. And then the birth of the puppies is hours after that. And also the babies will start moving allot right before the brith as they are moving into the birth canal. Usually when the female has contractions the tummy will tighten for a few seconds and the relax again. What is her temp at now? |

Ahhhh. Well tell her i said happy birth day and give her a hug and kiss and great belly rub from me!! :Puppy2: :Birthday3:bigbdaypa |

Usually you can tell when they are going into labor, and when the actual time comes you will probably know. Theses are the definite signs she is going into labor and puppies should arrive within 1-5 hours. she'll start to dig at everything, she'll pant like crazy, and won't be able to get comfortable. Diarrhea can be a sign of labor. Some people believe that that's nature's way of flushing everything out before whelping begins. She will constantly lick her vaginal area, and will probably be draining allot! |

I don't think it will be tonight unless her temp drops lower than that later on into the night. She is still on day 61 right? So she will probably wait to have them. I know it gets so hard waiting the last days it about drives you crazy! Hehe;) But when it drops and stays around the same low reading it shouldn't be anymore than 12 hours after that, that she gives birth. |
Any news?? |
