| ![]() ANy pups yet. I just caught this thread. You should not worry yet unless she is pushing and nothing is happening. My mom's chihuahau ALWAYS goes 71 days. she's had 3 litters and all 3 times she went to 71. Some vets say give them to 67 days some say 70, so I would call your vet to ask him. I would not give a pit dose, if you give pit to early you can risk her putting to many pups down the birth cannel at once and you'll end up with a c-section. Good luck and keep us posted.

| ![]() Ovulation happens due to hormones. It happens whether or not the bitch is bred, like in humans. Breeding dates have zip to do with due dates. To get a due date you need to test progesterone levels or if it is not a first breeding you can sometimes count back from prior whelpings to see what day of her cycle she ovulates, usually they are consistent. The eggs mature about 2 days post ovulation but the 63 days starts with ovulation not conception. |
