| ![]() A bad bite is a recessive trait so if the dog is showing an underbite he is homozygous for a bad bite. Unless you find a gal that is homozygous for a good bite (not easy to do) than half the puppies born to this male will be undershot as well.

| ![]() Yes and thats why I would not start with a stud that already has a bad fault. Why incorporate that into your breeding program? Its hard to believe that a reputable breeder would say go ahead and use him as a stud, but the same thing happened to me from a reputable YTcA breeder/exhibitor. Once you breed a fault in, its very hard to breed it out without starting with all new lines. |
