| Food Question again. Sorry to be such a pain, but I need advice. A few days ago, I was told that Science Diet was not a good food and was given a reference to a list of better quality foods here. I emailed Chicken soup because it had such good reviews and just got my samples a couple of days ago. Since the nearest dealer is over an hour away, I went to their website to get dealer information to see if my friend that runs a pet supply store could order it for me. I found out that Chicken Soup is made by Diamond pet foods. I went to their site and found out that our local farm supply is a dealer of Diamond Pet foods. They actually carry a diamond puppy formula at our farm supply. This is a list of ingredients. Ingredients Chicken by-product meal, whole grain ground corn, wheat flour, chicken fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols), beet pulp, egg product, flaxseed, natural chicken flavor, salmon oil (source of DHA), fish meal, potassium chloride, salt, choline chloride, vitamin E supplement, iron proteinate, zinc proteinate, copper proteinate, ferrous sulfate, zinc sulfate, copper sulfate, potassium iodide, thiamine mononitrate, manganese proteinate, manganous oxide, ascorbic acid, vitamin A supplement, biotin, calcium pantothenate, manganese sulfate, sodium selenite, pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6), vitamin B12 supplement, riboflavin, vitamin D supplement, folic acid. What do you think about Diamond puppy food. Is it comparable to Chicken Soup Puppy, or do you just think I should ask the farm supply to order Chicken Soup for me?? |

| You really want to avoid any food that has corn, wheat or meat by products in it. There are many good brands available but you may have to order them and have it shipped. That's what I do. I use Drs. Foster & Smith's brand. I like it because all my dogs do well on it, it has none of the 'bad things' in it and is reasonably priced. It also comes in a chicken and a lamb variety. There are other good brands out there. You can go to dogfoodanalysis.com and see a review of all brands. As long as you're buying a quality brand, it's really up to you which one to pick or which one your dogs will eat. |

| The ingredients you listed are mainly fillers. I don't see any real food. I think you should probably check out these sites: Does Your Dog Food Include Euthanized Dog? | Chicken Soup is made by Diamond but it is much better quality. It has more quality protein and no corn. Some people won't feed Diamond because they have had some problems with quality control and recalls but not in the Chicken Soup line of food. |

| Thanks to all of you. I did go back and compare the ingredients in both Chicken Soup and Diamond Puppy. Big difference in quality. I called the farm supply and they agreed to order Chicken Soup for me as needed. Thank you for the advice. |
