| BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | It's sad that everyone scared her away. I wish there was a way to convince her to come back. She needs to be educated on breeding, now she may go do it on her own and not have any help at all. Olive, if you do read this, please come back and stay, there is many members here who will help you! |

| Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | well....lots of drama lately it seems....Since so many are offering thoughts and after a gazillion posts on this site I guess I'll throw in my 2 cents ....this is long and I'm tired ...but wanted to say something that I Hope will make sense. I feel HONESTY is the best way to answer someones question...even a question that causes your eyeballs to bug out. ![]() I know a few times I've re-read a post of mine and thought - that came off a bit stronger than I should have....but - When someone comes here and NEEDS to hear something - they should hear it....Hopefully in a tactful way By not speaking up, or encouraging something that just may be plain wrong or dangerous to a dog isn't helping any of those out there reading or trying to learn. If everyone put their real feelings aside and tried to post sooooo nice that the real question isn't addressed - how will someone new to breeding tiny dogs ever know what's safe and not safe ? or what's wrong and what's right ? I don't like seeing anyone 'run off' but I sure wish people who get these tiny dogs & think they can breed did their RESEARCH 1st before they actually do it. Unfortunately - yorkies are so popular and expensive now there are way too many people doing it for the wrong reasons. I UNDERSTAND why someone would want to breed a dog they love - I really do - I remember thinking about it myself - but I READ and read and READ - then talked/asked questions privately... I knew pretty quick it wasn't for me. There's many people new to breeding and good for them IF they have their dogs best interest at heart - - but there's also alot out there who just want easy income. (I'm NOT referring to this thread directly - that was just a general statement) I've been here a long time and have read so many posts that make me just want to stop reading - but again - IF someone posts - those that have answers and advise should give it - even if it isn't what the original poster want to hear. On the good side - I've seen people come here and get so much helpful HONEST information they actually re-thought their plans - it goes either way.....but in my heart - I feel many do exactly what they want to do ...no matter what anyone says. The whole thing about a message board is just that - we're exchanging messages - IF all our 'posts' were light and sweet then the whole point of this section is missed.

| Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | ok my eyes are bugging out after reading my own post - SORRY THAT WAS SO LONG !! ![]() ![]() ![]() when I Said 'honesty' - I better clarify I don't mean calling someone a crazy idiot for what they're thinking - but I DO think if someone has a bad idea or has no clue that someone should SPEAK UP and guide them or tell them that is just NOT a good idea - shutting up now ...I just bored my own self. I should know better than to post when I'm really tired ![]() |

| One more comment, and then I'm done with this thread. Now I understand why many breeders stay out of this section! Arguing on here is like banging your head against brick wall! (Not meant directly at anyone, just saying in general.) I will follow suit.

I wish you would reconsider this. This is not the same as a dog being in a crate 24/7 like at a pet store. Crates at puppy mills often have wire bottoms for easier cleaning that is very hard on the dog. In both of these cases, I think the crates are bad. However a nice clean crate that is used as a bed is a different matter. How else is a breeder supposed to keep dogs separated? My vet told me to crate train Joey, and he explained that dogs like the den-like feeling of the crate, and they feel safe. Joey absolutely loves his crate and often goes inside it on his own. Dogs are different than humans and have different needs so don't make the assumption that they don't like this because you would not like it.

| Yelling? There was yelling? Generally when EVERYTHING is written in all caps, that signifies yelling. Capitalizing an occasional word is used to emphasize that particular word. |

| I am not saying that I agree with it. I don't keep mine in crates or cages but I do have a dog room so I can keep some of mine separated when necessary. I know some people crate train and when done properly the dogs are fine. I am not in favor of those breeders that raise dogs in cages like that were rabbits or chickens. Too me that is sad. |

| I'm not a breeder and don't know if I ever will be, but I read this section a lot because I've found some great information. We all have one thing in common here - we all love our yorkies! I love reading and learning everything I can about them. I would never put one of my dogs in jeopardy by breeding without a clue of what I'm doing. Unfortunately, there's a lot of people out there who just want to breed for the experience, or they want their dog to have the experience. Those are not reasons to breed. There's so much involved, and it gets lost on so many. I've seen threads where someone asks for advice, but then they want to be argumentative or they find every excuse why they can't do what was advised by EXPERIENCED, REPUTABLE breeders. I think that's when the thread starts to take a bad turn because you just lose patience with the people who want to do it their way and don't want to be told anything different. And, that's on any thread, not just in the breeder section. Sometimes you just have to be blunt, and I think the bluntness is misinterpreted as being rude to some. You can tell the difference in the people who really want to learn and really want help and the ones who want you to tell them what THEY want to hear.
