I do not believe a stud with immature sperm produce deformed puppies...they do not produce any puppies. Sperm needs to be strong and viable to fertilize the eggs...immature sperm are not up to the job and no pregnancy results.

You are probably right but on the other hand it makes sense to me that immature sperm would. Oh heck i don't know but I kind of have always blamed the flea medicine I put on her right about the time the embryos were forming. Vet of course leans more to it being the studs young age. But he woujld since he is the one that told me to the medicine on her, which I washed off almost immediately. This was in my first breeding. I have learned a lot since then.

I dont know about immature sperm or not.
BUT I lean towards the flea meds too.
The males I use just happen to be around 2 years.
I would love to be able to use Roscoe
He's just not ready at over a year...Rrrrrrrrr again!

I vote flea meds...sperm is either viable enough to fertilize the egg or it isn't...there is no middle ground the repo specialist say.
