If she has that attitude then I would not want her mentoring me! Sounds like this is a business venture for her if that is really how she feels. I started learning from books, and aside from experience it is a very valuable resource! I was not trying to be harsh, just helpful. Books are awesome source of information and you can never get too much of that going into this adventure!

oh no, i know you weren't trying to be harsh. teddyandtiffy came off a little brash, but i'm sure she meant well also. but i am trying, i'm doing as much research as i possibly can at the moment. but you don't learn everything you need to know in one day. i'm just taking this one day at a time and learning every step of the way.
