Thank you for the insite on this subject. I did not know they would not be able to tell the size of the pups. So maybe I call and change the appointment till the following week.

I think she's adorable with floppy ears too. She has thicker ear leather though they are of good size. The cartilage was never really strong and she grows hair on her ears like nobody's business. The breeder never bothered to shave them after they came up as a pup and the weight broke the cartilage about half way down. When you really have her attention she will hold them up a bit and they look just like a sheltie's. Her daughter is the same way. It took me almost 5 months to get her ears up and I had to shave them every other day.

Oh my goodness! You know she looks a lot like Brooke...and she has BEAUTIFUL pups. Her last litter is 9 weeks old today, they're cute as buttons and I may have a little boy (Dallas) to watch. I'm holding him back and keeping my eye out. She's soft coated too...boy isn't that a pain in the a** to brush though? Here she is...

Actually she doesn't matt and only gets brushed when it's bath time, about once every other week. Occasionally she'll get a bit of a matt where she pees on her back legs. She has enough hair for 3 dogs and we keep her in a puppy cute cause she's so darn cute in one! Your Brooke is adorable. Good luck with Dallas, I hope he pans out for you. It's so fun to see them mature into everything you hoped they would be.

The ones I've had done are usually about a week before

I was just talking to hubby and I think I will call my vet tomorrow and talk to her to see if she will be able to determine what size they will be at this stage of the game, or if she thinks I should wait another week.
I am not as concerned about how many babies, it would be nice to know for sure though. When her tummy is tight I can feel at least 4 poss 5 pups. Just a little concerned about the size more. Lacey Bugs parents and grandparents are small 5 lbs and under. But that is as far back as I know on her. I know Tigers line back 4 generations and all are small 5 lbs and under. But... you never know what is lurking beyond that. Lacey Bug is 5 lbs. 2 ozs and Tiger is 3 lbs 13 ozs. Another factor is this will be the first litter for both of them. Thank you for helping me clear this up. My friend tells me I worry too much and obsess over my dogs too much. But when it comes to their health and well being I dont think you can obsess or worry to much.

Teddi had her pups at 3:00 this morning. Two fat gals weighing in at 7 oz. & 6 oz. No mom's not oversized, she weighs 6.5 pounds. They just had lots of room and lots of good food! So, who's next?
