AKC Application Question Can someone tell me if the dates under the sire and dam's names refer to their date of birth or their date of registration? At first I had thought it was DOB. However, if that is the case, then my new puppies mother was only 12 weeks old when she was bred. Thanks, Trish

Thanks. I though it HAD to be, but since the puppy was a rehome and I didn't get to see his parents, I wanted to double check. Trish

It is the date the sire and dame were entered into the stud books, as the date of their first litters. Last edited by YorkyDiva; 04-04-2008 at 05:28 AM.

dates True, it is the date they were registered in the books..BUT it has nothing to do with producing a litter. All dogs are entered in the "Stud" records..male and female, but all dogs do not reproduce, they still retain a number all to themselves. I have a bitch who is 2 1/2 yrs old, but her date of recording in the book is 02/08..she produced her litter first 10/07...confusing to people I know.
